About Phillip Plein

The Philipp Plein brand was founded in 1998. Plein began his career making dog beds before progressing into furniture design. Plein did not have a fashion background and found his way into the industry in a very unique way. Whilst showcasing his furniture at a Moet & Chandon installation, Plein created handbags to use as leather swatches. Many people expressed a desire to purchase these bags, and so the fashion brand was born. Philipp Plein is best known for its extravagant fashion shows and unique aesthetic consisting of opulent colours and bold skull designs. Each timepiece is designed to make a statement following the brand’s philosophy of ‘more is more’.
