The famous Lacoste crocodile is possibly most renowned for its appearance on clothing but still looks great on a super stylish timepiece. With both mens and ladies lines available, they provide the perfect addition to any outfit.
A fresh face on the court
The first appearance of the instantly recognisable insignia can be traced all the way back to a tennis court in 1933 when René Lacoste produced tennis shirts in collaboration with André Gillier. This is regarded by many as the first appearance of an exterior brand name on a shirt. The company expanded by manufacturing shirts for a range of sports including golf and water sports in an attempt to appeal to upper-class buyers.
Much more than sport
In the 60s and beyond significant growth was seen and the company expanded into other areas. By the 1980s many more items including clothing, perfume, shoes and Lacoste watches proudly displayed the Lacoste logo but still remains true to its sporty origins, using bright and noticeable colours to attract attention.
