Alsta Watches

Authorised retailer for Alsta Watches. Alsta aims to create high-quality, high-performance timepieces for stylish men and women who require a wristwatch to make their daily lives run more smoothly. The brand has never cared for fashions and trends, they place focus on the design and craftsmanship of each watch instead.

The History of Alsta

Formally known as the Alstater Watch Corporation, Alsta began when Joseph Alstater sold his chicken farm in New Jersey in 1946 and moved to New York City. Alsta quickly became one of the most unique and interesting watch brands to operate in America and by the 1960s they were one of the most prolific producers of recreational dive watches and skin divers. During the 1960s and 70s, Alsta also issued many fascinating dress watches, often including day-date and alarm complications. However, despite the exceptional craftsmanship and care that Alsta put into each watch, the ‘Quartz Crisis’ of the 1970s affected them so much that they could not survive. Decades later, in 2014, the Alsta brand was revived and throughout the first few years of the relaunch, they worked on creating a new wristwatch. This watch, the Nautoscaph, was the first model to be launched by the brand in 40 years. In more recent years, Alsta has focused on bringing romance back into watches by using the original designs of Alstater watches. The brand aspires for these new models to be worn by successful, motivated lovers of adventure and the great outdoors.

Alsta Style

Reflecting the brand’s philosophies, Alsta continues to place a strong focus on the design and craftsmanship of each timepiece. While Alsta uses the original designs of its vintage watches, the brand has avoided making carbon copies. This way the watches can be remodelled to meet the needs of the 21st Century. Stylish, functional and a piece of history, the brand’s models are rewarding niches for collectors to explore and enjoy.
