At First Class Watches, as an independent family run business, we take pride in our progression and achievements over the years – whilst striving for more continuously. We are happy to share with you a timeline of accomplishments and proudest moments so far.
Through WatchPro’s Hot 100 list, the magazine celebrates the UK watch industry’s top 100 men and women.
The Hot 100 list puts the spotlight on the people behind the watches. Retailers, representatives and many more from all areas of the trade have been interviewed about the secrets to their success and their undoubtedly grand plans for the future. The list is separated into several subcategories: Power Players, Premier Buyers, Retail Titans, Brand Champions and Trailblazers.
The WatchPro Awards ceremony is amongst the most thrilling and long awaited horological events each year in Britain. The awards are hosted by WatchPro magazine. First announced in 2016, the magazine wanted to create an event celebrating watch retailers of all calibre. This exquisite highly anticipated awards ceremony has been hosted every year since.
The night honours all retailers be it independent, online or multichannel. There are 12 awards presented. The retailers are shortlisted based on the votes of readers of the magazine for eleven of the awards. The category “Retailer of the Year” will be awarded solely on the votes of readers. James Moore Jewellers and First Class Watches are honoured to have been nominated 5 out of 6 years in a row from 2016 to 2022, only missing 2021 due to the event being cancelled.
The UK Jewellery Awards is the longest running trade awards event in the UK. The prestigious event celebrates the achievements of people in the jewellery and watch industries. The event is in its 30th year and it prides itself on allowing businesses of any size to promote themselves as well as gain recognition for their accomplishments from their peers and customers.
The event is judged by a carefully selected panel of industry experts. We are honoured to have been shortlisted 3 years in a row, 2020 to 2022.
2022
For the third year in a row, First Class Watches has been shortlisted for ‘Watch Retailer of the Year’ at the 30th Anniversary UK Jewellery Awards. We have also been nominated for ‘Customer Event of the Year’ thanks to our in-store charity raffle event celebrating James Moore Jewellers 25th anniversary.
2021
In 2021 First Class Watches has been shortlisted for a second year in a row in the UK Jewellery Awards for ‘Watch Retailer of the Year’ as well as for ‘Marketing Campaign of the Year’ for our ‘12 Weeks 12 Giveaways’ marketing initiative. The awards will be held in September of 2021 in London. Another WatchPro Award nomination came in 2021 following the cancelled 2020 awards, this time for E-Commerce retailer of the year.
2020
In 2020 we were shortlisted for 3 categories in the UK Jewellery Awards. For the category ‘Multichannel Retailer of the Year’ First Class Watches and James Moore & Co were nominated in tandem. First Class Watches was also nominated for ‘Watch Retailer of the Year’, while James Moore Jewellers was nominated for ‘Store Design of the Year’ for their brand new store re-design in late 2019. Sadly the 2020 WatchPro Awards were cancelled with no nominees or winners due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
2019
For the 4th year in a row, First Class Watches was nominated for a WatchPro Award. We were nominated for ‘Ecommerce Retailer of the Year’.
2018
First Class Watches was nominated for the Watch Pro Awards ‘Ecommerce Retailer of the Year’ in 2018.
2017
In 2017 First Class Watches was nominated for the second time for ‘Online Watch Retailer of the Year’ by WatchPro Awards.
2016
In 2016 four of our employees were honoured to be selected/recognised by WatchPro Magazine. They appeared with a feature interview in the 2016 Hot 100 magazine issue discussing future plans and hopes for the business. Half a decade later, though First Class Watches has expanded and reached new heights, we have preserved our optimism and desire to improve. In 2016 First Class Watches was nominated by WatchPro Awards for the first time for ‘Online Watch Retailer of the Year’.
At First Class Watches we strive to deliver outstanding service, as well as build a mutually trusting relationship with our customers. In 2020 we reached over 10,000 5 star reviews on Trustpilot
