Every 4 years we are treated to the largest sporting event in the world, The World Cup. Football’s biggest stage, and a chance to find out which country holds the best footballers, 2018 means that its world cup time once again, hosted by Russia the tournament starts this summer and is expected to be yet another fantastic show. 4 years ago saw Germany lift the title in Brazil, with them going into this years event as strong favorites once again, alongside some of the best in the likes of Spain, France and Brazil.

However, we are not looking at the beautiful game, we’re interested in watches! We are seeing more and more brands from all around the world, so, we thought, why not make our own mini – Watch World Cup? We’re going to take a look at some of the new and old in watch making, from the classic brands coming out of Switzerland, to the brand new from Sweden or England!

We have chosen 8 different nations, famous for their watch making, or on the rise, and chosen one or two watch brands from each to pitch against each other! From Swiss giants to the Aussie underdogs, we look at a range of different brands, with different styles, technologies, and flair; just like the 32 countries at the world cup. We look at the positives and negatives of each brand, and let you decide who wins The Watch World Cup!
