Baselworld Day 4: Insight Into the Fastest Growing Watch Company and 2 New Unveilings

Baselworld Day 4

After a few exciting opening days at Baselworld 2015, things slowed down a bit on Sunday, although there were still many interesting announcements and events. If you missed these for the thrilling Liverpool vs. Manchester United game, don’t worry, I’ve got you covered.

Baselworld Day 4: Inside the Head of Bering Time’s CEO

One of the most exciting parts of Baselworld is the opportunity to see what the CEOs of top watch brands are thinking about the industry.

An interview with Bering Time’s CEO, Lars GramSkjønnemann, was published on Sunday.

Bering is known for their minimalist designs, low prices, and high quality. The CEO was proud to share that Bering grew 33% in both 2013 and 2014, and are projected to exceed that growth in 2016.

What does he owe their success to? When asked, he commented:

“Our strategy is to keep prices down. This continues to challenge us and also our retailers, because they have to agree to a lower profit rate than for other brands.”

Bering’s line of watches is one of the best for someone who wants a simple, elegant, and robust watch, for a decent price. Their watches this season are mainly masculine colors: dark blue, black, and grey.

If you want to see first hand why everyone seems to love Bering, take a look at the wide variety of Bering watches in the store.

A New Look for Omega

Omega has been known for quite some time as a leader in quality and innovation. At Baselworld 2015, Omega has created a huge stir by revealing its Globemaster watch collection.

One of the most exciting watches in that collection is the Master Chronometer, a new mechanical watch that exceeds the toughest Swiss certification standards. It’s a beautiful watch that notably contains a fluted bezel and a pie-pan dial.

While the Globemaster line is an entirely new one, you’ll notice many similarities with the older Constellation line, like the stainless steel cases and Omega’s infamous gold coloring.

New Watches for Adventurers

There was one more exciting announcement on Sunday that will interest you if you’re into adventures.

Tudor, a company renowned for making beautiful, robust watches for outdoorsmen, has unveiled both the new version of the Pelagos and the Fastrider Chronograph.

The Pelagos is of course one of Tudor’s most popular models. The new update features an all-blue color, along with a titanium case. The most substantial change is under the hood, where the calibre has been fully made by Todor for the first time ever.

Along with aesthetics, performance has been upgraded in the Pelagos. It is now suitable for use in water down to 500 meters, perfect for most divers.

We still have a few days left of Baselworld 2015, with many exciting announcements still to come – stay tuned!
