The NEW Seiko Prospex Street Series

Seiko Prospex Street Series 1

Inspired By The Original, The Seiko Prospex Street Series Brings A Modern Twist To A Classic

The Seiko Prospex Street Series has taken its style from the original 1975 Seiko diver. This new collection of timepieces feature the same iconic outer protector, fitted in to a more compact, sleek design, ideal for urban living.

The 1975 version of the Seiko Prospex Street Series was the first divers watch to have a titanium case, and was called the Professional Diver’s 600m, part of the Prospex Series. This piece changed the worlds standards, when it comes to diving watches. Not only did it feature this titanium case, but it also came with a multi-layer case construction, providing improved security against sock and corrosion, two things that can be prominent concerns with diving equipment. In order to ensure ease of use, Seiko gave this watch a new accordion style strap, which allowed for expansion and contraction as the depth changes, just adding to the functionality of this new piece!

A Modern Take For Urban Street Style

Seiko Prospex challenges every limit, with a collection of timepieces for sports lovers and adventure seekers whether in the water, in the sky or on land as professional watches, represented by diver’s watches which have gained overwhelming trust from professional divers and adventurers all over the world.

Now, Seiko have announced the release of the Prospex Street Series, and exciting prospect! Whilst maintaining faith to essence of the Prospex, the Street Series applies its own unique approach, tuning the watch up to modern times, making a watch fit for the streets rather than the seas! That being said, this is still a watch that echoes the design of one of Seiko’s most innovative professional divers watches, and is still water resistant to 200m, so this piece will not look out of place under the water at all! Executed in a modern style, with a lightweight, yet robust, reinforces case, these watches can be perfectly matched with daily or town use according to the brand directors!

Available in three different colour variations, Grey, Blue and Khaki, modern, on trend colours, perfectly suited to a range of outfits and looks! A 46mm case makes this watch stand out in the crowd, and its solar V157 movement allows the watch to be powered by light, keeping it going without the need of a replacement battery every year or two!

Features;

Three Dimensional Bezel

The watches in this street series collection are formed from aluminum, excluding the silicone band of course, expressing a more edgy shape to the case. The new case design also features a three dimensional form and conveys the pursuit of quality in the finer details, which really brings the piece together with added levels and depth!

Leather Textured Silicone Strap

As previously mentioned, this watch arrives on a silicone strap, originally made for waterproof diving, along with the accordion feature which now acts more as an aesthetic mark. This strap has actually been applied with a leather patterning process to give the unique look of leather, whilst retaining the versatility and durability of silicone! It has been designed to match equally well in town and the great outdoors.

Camouflage Pattern Dial

To add an additional level of detail to the piece, Seiko opted for a subtle Camo texture/pattern dial, which really adds to its street/ urban image, adding yet another level of depth to the design!
