This wristwatch is a one of the most amazing wrist watches, it was created with the intention of fitting as much into the watch as possible. It’s has a 1.3 inch OLED display which doesn’t require a backlight (mainly because it looked cool, according to creator Zak Kemble) and very powerful hardware. But more impressive is the amount of work which has gone into the software inside the watch. There are games, apps, alarms and animations for everything on the watch.

In terms of home made wrist watches, this is better than anyone could possibly expect – it’s up there with some of best commercial watches. It’s even waterproof!

This watch was covered in our 8 Extraordinary Watches Which Will Make You Go Wow post. It is a smartwatch developed at home by Jared Stanson simply because he had an OLED lying around and wondered if he could create his own watch with it. He started developing the watch in early 2013 and was wearing a completed the watch in July 2014.

Jared spent a lot of time programming the software on the watch so it works like an actual smartwatch. While it might be a bit easier to buy an Apple Watch – it can be a little bit more exciting to have a one of a kind smartwatch on your wrist (even if you won’t get to play Angry Birds on it!)
