In exciting news, Squale has just launched its all-new 2001 watches! The 2001 collection has a rich history in dive watches, dating back to the 1960s when advancements made them essential for professional divers. Originally designed for freedivers exploring the deep sea, it is now a favourite among modern ocean adventurers. The new Reference 2001 watches stay true to the original’s iconic design while adding fresh details, like a bezel with a sapphire glass insert and a stainless steel bracelet with skeletonised links. These watches come in three different colours, so there’s something for everyone. If the new Squale 2001 models have grabbed your attention, keep reading!
All-New Squale 2001 Watches
Each watch in this collection features a white rehaut and a date window at 3 o’clock, with dial colour options in orange, sunray blue, and black. While the colours differ, all models share the same advanced features and technology. The dials include polished steel baton indices and bold hands, with the minute hand in orange on the blue and black versions for contrast. For divers, readability is key, so the indices and hands are coated with SuperLuminova C3 for excellent visibility in low light.
Each 316L stainless steel case, measuring 40mm in diameter, has hidden lugs that maintain the classic proportions. Furthermore, the bezel of each watch includes a sapphire glass insert for extra durability. A smart “push to release” system keeps it secure, preventing accidental impacts. The screw-down crown features at the 4 o’clock position. While preventing pressure on the back of the hand, the crown aids each watch’s impressive 600-metre water resistance!
Providing a new level of precision, an Elaboré grade Swiss Sellita SW 200-1 automatic movement, with a 38-hour power reserve, powers each watch. Said movement ensures superior performance both under and above the water. A 316L stainless steel bracelet, with skeletonised links, secures each watch to the wrist. This bracelet acts as a tribute to the golden age of dive watchmaking and completes the design with a touch of authenticity.
