Today, we are introducing the Seiko Presage Style 60s ‘Elegant Yet Refined’ watches. Seiko’s Presage collection is known for its timeless looks and precise mechanical timekeeping. The new timepieces are instilled with the minimalist design and distinctly Japanese aesthetic that the collection is famous for. Fashion in the sixties was characterised by an essence of elegance combined with a robust and wearable flair. Seiko has perfectly captured this feeling in the design of its latest Presage Style 60s models, aptly named ‘Elegant Yet Refined’.

Seiko’s latest launch consists of two watches that capture a delightfully retro aesthetic. The colours of the dials are taken from 1960s Japanese technical workwear. These outfits were designed in muted colours and were truly made to last. Worn by specialists, engineers and factory workers, this workwear has become iconic. This lunch features two watches, one with a blue dial and one with a brown dial.

The Details

Both variants of this watch feature baton indices that are multi-faceted for optimal light reflection. Silver hour, minute and second hands are mounted at the centre of the dial. Both the hands and indices are detailed with Lumibrite to ensure the time can be read in the dark. Box-shaped Hardlex crystal protects the dial and its features. The bezel and lugs are mirror-finished to create a unique sense of contrast.

A stainless steel case frames the dial. It measures 39.5mm in diameter and 12mm in depth for a comfortable fit on the wrist. The case houses the in-house built 4R35 automatic movement that powers this timepiece. The movement is accurate to +45/-35 seconds per day and provides up to 40 hours of power reserve. The wearer can enjoy the mechanics of the movement that powers their watch thanks to the exhibition case back.

Each model is finished with a classic stainless steel bracelet that is fastened using a three-fold clasp with push button release. The multi-row five-link bracelet is finished with hairline and mirrored detailing to enhance the interplay with light and sparkle across the watch. In addition, these new timepieces are water resistant up to 5 bar.
