Seiko x Resident Evil Collaboration
Each of the two brand-new models is limited to just 600 pieces worldwide. This means that the timepieces are set to be incredibly collectable amongst both Seiko fans and Resident Evil enthusiasts. The ‘Resident Evil: Vendetta’ film, based on the world of the Japanese ‘Resident Evil’ videogame, was released in 2017. Its huge success followed the popularity of the game and made ‘Resident Evil’ a huge name in the movie and gaming community. A sequel movie named ‘Resident Evil: Death Island’ is due to be released in the Summer of 2023. The new collaboration timepieces celebrate this film and will be worn by the two main characters in the movie.
The New Watches
Both of the new timepieces are powered by the Seiko in-house 5X calibre GPS Solar movement with advanced functionality. The GPS module has been re-engineered to be faster and more intuitive than ever, improving the user experience. These watches take merely three seconds to advance the time 14 hours from Tokyo to New York. This is made possible as the hour, minute and second hands move independently. The watch also allows easy adjustment to daylight saving time and the ability to switch from home to local time instantly. A time zone change only requires the push of a single button.
This model exhibits an all-black colour scheme to match the Chris character’s combat uniforms. The bezel of this timepiece represents the character’s personality with its unique polygonal metal. A grey-khaki dial resembles the colour of Chris’s uniform, providing the wearer with a close connection with the character. This model features a chronograph, date and luminous hands and baton indices. Sapphire glass protects the dial and a black titanium case frames it. The case is treated with a Super Hard Coating to enhance its durability. This model is finished with a black titanium bracelet for a lightweight and hard-wearing finish.
This timepiece has a very solid feel. Its all-black colour scheme matches the Leon character’s aesthetic. The grey dial, vintage-style Lumibrite markers and calf leather strap have all been specially selected to match Leon’s leather and denim outfits. The dial features a chronograph and date display and is protected by scratch-resistant sapphire glass. A Super Hard Coated black titanium case frames the dial. Measuring 42.7mm in diameter, it is sure to make an impact on the wrist. The watch is secured using a timeless black leather strap. In addition, this watch is water resistant up to 10 bar, making it a practical choice for everyday wear.
