Introducing Raymond Weil’s Bronze Freelancer Skeleton Watch

Raymond Weil Bronze Freelancer Skeleton Watch

Raymond Weil unveiled the new Bronze Freelancer Skeleton Watch in April 2021. This launch is a historic moment for the brand as it is Raymond Weil’s first official skeleton dial watch. This new model is part of the brand’s iconic Freelancer collection which was built to accompany the free-spirited man through daily life. The Freelancer watches are sporty and modest, appropriate for both office and outdoor wear. This collection of watches is constantly being reinvented to suit a multitude of lifestyles, activities and fashions. The Raymond Weil Bronze Freelancer Skeleton Watch is no exception with its versatile style and skeleton dial.

The Skeleton Dial

The new model features a striking skeleton dial which exposes the automatic mechanical movement and the open balance wheel. This allows the wearer to observe and admire the movement that powers this eye-catching timepiece as the mechanism becomes a decorative element. The open dial is surrounded by a thin black edge that features white baton minute indices and Arabic indices to denote five-minute time periods. The dial exhibits rose gold hour and minute hands that are filled with luminous material for optimal timekeeping, even in the dark.

The Movement

The watch is powered by a Calibre RW1212 automatic movement. This gives the watch a generous 38-hour power reserve and is accurate from -5 seconds to +20 seconds per day. The skeleton dial is protected by sapphire crystal that has been treated to be anti-reflective on both sides. This ensures that the movement and hands will remain perfectly visible, even under bright sunlight. The movement is also visible through the screwed down exhibition case back which is made of sapphire crystal. Raymond Weil have designed this watch to perfectly present the reliable and precise movement that powers it.

The Finishing Touches

A bronze bezel surrounds the dial, giving the timepiece a classic and vintage look. The colour of the bezel perfectly complements the rose gold hands and stainless steel case. The case measures 50.73mm in length, 42.5mm in width, and 10.6mm in thickness, allowing the watch to sit comfortably on the wrist. The larger dial size ensures that the skeleton dial will be visible so that it can be easily admired. The case features a bronze crown to match the bezel. The crown screw fastens and features the ‘RW’ logo. The screw fastening of the crown aids in the 100 metre (10 bar) water-resistance that this watch boasts.

In a final touch of classic, vintage flair, the Raymond Weil Bronze Freelancer Skeleton Watch is finished with a vintage style brown leather strap. The strap has brown stitched detailing which adds another layer of interest to this timepiece. The watch will always remain secure on the wrist due to the stainless steel folding clasp and double-push security system that fastens it. This model is a fine example of watchmaking excellence with its classic appearance and exhibition dial, exposing the powerful and precise movement within.
