World Cup Watches XI

The 2018 World Cup in Russia. The biggest sporting event on the planet. And it has not disappointed so far, with some of the favourites on the plane home already, the likes of Germany, Spain, Argentina and Portugal have all been on the wrong side of the results this summer making for a highly exciting tournament.

But our focus is not so much on the pitch as off it. We wanted to know what all the stars are wearing on their wrists, not the easiest information to find, but we have managed to put together a World Cup Watches XI of some of the best pieces we have seen at this years competition.

In goal we have Ederson of Brazil, second to Allison this year on the pitch, but not on it. Wearing his 18KT Gold Rolex Daytona with a Rainbow Diamond Bezel. Reference-116598RBOW

At left centre back is Raphael Varane with his Blue Ceramic Richard Mille RM030 EMEA Edition with a White Strap, which is limited to only 100 pieces worldwide.

Sergio Ramos in the middle of the defense, sporting the Rolex Submariner that was gifted to the Champions League winning Real Madrid side – 30 of them costing 720,000 euros!

England’s Kyle Walker completes the defense with his Rolex Yachtmaster II with the blue bezel. And he’s not the only England player with a flashy timepiece too.

On the right of midfield we have another England star in Jesse Lingard, who is rocking the Patek Philippe 5711/1R Nautilus in rose gold. Retailing at over 50k!

To his left is midfield maestro Luka Modric of Croatia. Much like clubmate Ramos, Modric has gone Rolex, with the GMT ‘Batman.’ Reference-116710BLNR

Brazil’s Casemiro partners him in centre midfield, who, like many many footballers has gone for the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak open dial wheel ref. 15204OR

On the left of our midfield 4 we have Brazil’s posterboy, and PSG’s largest asset, Neymar JR who works in close collaboration with Gaga Milano, and has his own limited edition models.

On the left wing, we have Cristiano Ronaldo, who has a massive collection of timepieces. We’ve gone with a Tag Heuer, as he is an ambassador for the brand. Here we have chosen his Carrera Mikrotourbillon S.

Argentina’s Lionel Messi features on the right flank, with his Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Leo Messi limited edition, a watch made in homage to the world class super star!

Heading up the line we have Robert Lewandowski of Poland, who is the owner of many watches, including this Hublot Classic Fusion
