Having not won the World Cup since 1966, 52 years ago. Is time running out for England? Do they have what it takes to recreate the heroics of 66′?
Now more than ever looks like the time for the three lions to get the business done, and bring football home. With giants of the football world such as Germany and Spain being knocked out early on, it has left the competition wide open for anyone to win, and leaves England only 2 wins away from lifting the trophy and solidifying their place in the history books as the legends they would deserve to labeled as.
Croatia is the next challenge, with France already booking their place in the final after beating Belgium 1-0 last night. Croatia are no easy task, with the likes of Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic running the midfield, and skilful wingers Rebic and Perisic producing the magic. The World Cup top scorer Harry Kane and England’s goal happy centre backs Stones and Maguire have been on fire this tournament, especially from set pieces where England have looked particularly dangerous, and will be looking to net again after their 2-0 victory over Sweden, where Maguire and Alli netted to secure the semi-final place.
