A simple conversation in 2005 was all it took for TW Steel to be established, founder Ton Cobelens designed and manufactured the first TW Steel models from his house. The brand quickly grew thanks to the popularity of oversized watches and Ton created a range of new contemporary collections and divers timepieces to meet the demands of his new fan base.
TW Steel are also well known for their collaborations, teaming up with businesses and professionals from around the globe to offer large watch enthusiasts with limited edition timepieces to suite that bold personality.
TW Steel Collaborations
The brand has worked with some massive names such as; Red Bull and their Holden Racing Team, Guerlain Chicherit and his team GC Kompetition as well as Tom Coronel and the Boutsen Ginion racing team. They have also done design swap overs with Roderick Seibert and his team at Numbnut Motorcycles to make an incredible bike and timepiece called Son Of Time (see video below).
Donkervoort 40th Anniversary Limited Edition Timepiece
TW Steel have proudly announced their latest collaboration, this time with Donkervoort, a Netherlands based car manufacturer which specialises in authentic hand-built and ultra light weight sports cars. The black and red timepiece is limited to only 300 pieces which have been designed and developed using inspiration from Donkervoorts’ stunning new supercar which was designed and built by themselves to commemorate their 40th anniversary, its called the Donkervoort D8 GTO 40.

The new Donkervoort limited edition timepiece really embraces both brands continuous drive for innovation as well as their exceptional excellence and performance.
By combining the cutting edge design philosophy from TW Steel with the incredible signature styling of Donkervoort they have managed to produce a watch which only only looks stylish on your wrist but also boast a rugged design which perfectly reflects the exclusive look of the all new Donkervoort D8 GTO 40.
Keeping true to the TW Steel style the watches case measures 45mm from edge to edge and the case is made from titanium which has been PVD plated black.
The titanium dial not only features the TW Steel logo but also proudly showcases the Donkervoort logo in a striking visual thanks to the design, it is built up in two layers which gives the logo and the face a striking optical depth.
In order to make sure the watch is reliable it uses a Miyota 6S21 movement which is protected by sapphire coated crystal which has been treated with an anti-reflective coating, plus it features a screw down crown to maintain the watches water resistance.
The materials that have been used in the watch strap are truly unique however are used separately all the time. They have combined black leather and soft black rubber so combine materials from the Donkervoort rubber performance tires and the stunning leather interior, they never miss the finer details too and this watch is no exception. Even the red stitching matches Donkervoort’s brand identity.
This watch is one of only a few and is expected to be hugely popular with car enthusiasts and big watch collectors, set to be released for sale in August 2018 there isn’t long to wait for this fantastic addition to your wrist.
The Limited edition timepiece also boasts a decorative case back which has been engraved with the Donkervoort 40th anniversary logo, not only that but your limited edition timepiece also has a number from 1-300 depending on the model you choose.
