Oris Raising Money for Movember

Oris Movember Edition

Oris have recently announced that they have become a proud sponsor and a big part of the Movember Foundation and are celebrating the partnership with a new watch to be released shortly.

What is the Movember Foundation?

The Movember foundation has been around for a number of years now and is still continuing to show huge growth year on year. Men today around the world have been and are continuing to face a health crisis that isn’t being talked about anywhere near enough if at all. They are dying too young, before their time and the Movember Foundation has decided that this needs to change to they are taking action and they need your help.

Whilst the Movember Foundation is mainly aimed around males its not a requirement to be able to support, raise money for the cause or even host an event. They are looking for everyone and everyone to help them raise awareness and get talking.

Change for the Better

Oris have a mission statement which is to bring “Change for the Better” and is the exact reason why the Swiss watch brand has chosen to team up with the Foundation. To further celebrate and support the Mission they are creating a special edition Oris Divers Movember Edition watch which has been “Trimmed and Timed to Perfection” not only that but for every watch that sells Oris is going to make a donation to the foundation.

The watch brand have made some small tweaks as a little nudge towards the Foundation, the indices and hands of the watch are edged with rose gold plating which bonds together with the colours that the Foundation use whilst also creating a new take on the Divers watch from the Sixty-Five Collection. The 1960’s version of the Oris logo is engraved on the case back and surrounded by the words “Oris Movember Edition” and even has the Movember Foundations moustache logo which we love!

You can also find the moustache logo heat stamped into the leather strap of the watch on both the top and bottom parts of the strap giving it an easily recognisable aesthetic. It’s presentation box is also vintage styled as they have used their heritage box which is beautifully designed and a masterpiece in itself. Contained within the box is a tool and changeable Nato strap that is coloured Bordeaux red, beige and dark brown, do not be worried if you change the straps as the Nato strap also has the moustache logo on the metal loop.

Company Statements

“We have been following Movember’s activities for a number of years and have been hugely impressed with everything they’ve achieved, raising the profile of men’s health issues around the world, It’s a great privilege to work with them as part of our Change for the Better campaign, and to present the Oris Movember Edition. We look forward to raising significant funds to support their activities through sales of the watch,” said Oris Chairman Ulrich W. Herzog.

“This is a really exciting partnership for us and we’re extremely grateful to Oris for all the support of this year’s Movember campaign. The Movember Edition is a great piece of design and we’re very proud to see the iconic Movember Moustache on the watch. The collaboration will help us continue our work in funding vital research and support programmes impacting men’s health all over the world.” The Movember Foundation’s CEO, Owen Sharp

Oris really wanted to make an impact as this is really something the watch brand believe in and want to support ongoing, to make sure to get the word out they have also planned some more events in support of Movember. The first of these events is the Official Oris Shave Off on November 1, when The Nomad Barber in London’s Shoreditch will be giving free shaves to people taking part in Movember. But wait it doesn’t end there you can also be in with a change of winning an exclusive Oris x Movember Diver 65 watch by raising as much money as possible for the Foundation by the closing date on 30th November 2017 the winner will be the person who has raised the most money for the Foundation.

Good Luck to all that are braving the shave next month and we hope you raise as much money as possible!
