Maurice Lacroix has long stood at the forefront of contemporary Swiss watchmaking, renowned for its precision, craftsmanship, and daring design language. Now, the all-new Maurice Lacroix Aikonic collection elevates that legacy to unprecedented heights. Born from the success of the iconic Aikon, this latest evolution represents the ultimate expression of Aikon ownership. While retaining the unmistakable DNA of its predecessor, the Aikonic introduces a concept they call Innovative Craftsmanship—or simply “IC.” This philosophy embraces advanced materials for the dial and case, a newly refined movement, and the ingenious, patented ML Easy Change system. Curious to see what makes the Aikonic truly extraordinary? Let’s dive in!
All-New Maurice Lacroix Aikonic Collection
The Case and Dial
The Maurice Lacroix Aikonic collection offers five distinctive models: Black, Black & White, Black & Blue, Black & Turquoise, and an exclusive Limited Edition in all-black. While the colour accents differ across the range, the core design remains consistent throughout. Every model features a black carbon dial with rhodium-plated baton indices, along with rhodium-plated hour, minute, and second hands. A date aperture also features the 3 o’clock position. The only exception to this is the black & turquoise version, where the hands and indices have a striking turquoise plating. For enhanced visibility, the hour and minute hands on all Aikonic models feature a white Super-LumiNova coating. While ensuring optimal readability in any lighting condition, this coating also adds practical functionality.
A sapphire crystal with a double anti-reflective coating protects each dial. While delivering exceptional clarity, it also impresses with its resistance to scratches; perfect for withstanding the knocks of everyday wear. The collection’s cases are crafted from stainless steel, except for the limited edition, which boasts a black DLC-plated titanium case. Measuring 43mm in diameter, each case provides a bold yet comfortable presence on the wrist. Completing the design, Maurice Lacroix’s signature six-claw bezel frames every dial; a distinctive hallmark that captures the brand’s modern, urban spirit
The Movement and Finishing Touches
A sapphire crystal exhibition case back reveals the heart of the watch; the new ML1000 calibre. This automatic movement delivers an impressive 60-hour power reserve, making it an ideal choice for everyday wear. Demonstrating true Swiss craftsmanship, the movement is adorned with exquisite finishing touches, including blued screws and perlage as well as Côtes de Genève decoration.
Each watch is finished with a bi-material rubber strap featuring a nylon-textured rubber design. Harmonising seamlessly with the dial, case, and bezel, it completes the urban-inspired aesthetic of the timepiece. The strap also incorporates Maurice Lacroix’s patented ML Easy Change system, allowing the wearer to effortlessly swap styles whenever desired.
