Key Features of the Firmware Update for the Polar Vantage V3 and Grit X2 Pro Watches

Points-of-Interest

With Points-of-Interest (POI) you can enhance your navigation to locate key landmarks with ease; shelters, supermarkets and cafes are but to name a few. No matter if you’re training or exploring, POI helps you find these locations on your map or offers a direct beeline route with distance guidance to your chosen point. Additionally, you can set your own custom POIs and navigate to them with precision. To ensure that your exploration and planning are more intuitive than ever, POI is available both during and outside training. So even if you go off track in your adventure, you can remain confident that POI will get you back to a key landmark.

Find My Phone

With this feature, you’ll never lose track of your phone again. As its name suggests, Find My Phone shows the last synced location of your phone on your watch map. And when your phone is within its Bluetooth range, it lets you play a sound. Follow that sound and you’ve found your phone! Polar understands that when searching for your phone, you can often be quite stressed. Therefore, you can access this feature quickly from the home screen drop-down menu or the main menu.

Pre-Training Mode

This improved feature allows you to organise sports profiles for easier selection; these sports profiles are also smaller in size to contribute to their ease of use. Moreover, this feature uses clear and colourful textual indications while the GNSS fix is ongoing and when you’re ready to start your workout. The settings section is also more visible, so you have better access to this range of profiles.

Watch Faces and Complications

Two new analogue and three new digital watch face layouts are introduced in this firmware update. These layouts include unique ‘capsule’ or ‘pill-shaped’ widgets which help the wearer access their training stats quicker. Although these face layouts are data-rich, their designs remain sleek and modern; Polar hasn’t sacrificed form for function with these new faces.

While we have only gone into detail about four key features, this new firmware update includes several more. From charging during training and a route overview in the training summary to internal notification and pool swimming styles in the training summary, this new update brings an array of features that simplify and boost both your personalised training and exploration experiences.
