All-New Seiko Prospex Black Series ‘Night Vision’ Watches

Today, Seiko has launched their all-new Prospex Black Series ‘Night Vision’ watches. While they are rugged in design, this trio of watches deliver precisely beautiful Japanese aesthetics. Brought to life through a complete in-house manufacture, they are the perfect balance between intricate watchmaking skills and functional performance. Designed to be practical, reliable and durable in the deep depths of a diving hotspot, these new watches are the perfect companion for any exciting adventure.

These new watches are part of the brand’s Prospex Black Series collection. They are inspired by night diving missions and the intrepid diver’s view through a night scope. While they have different features relevant to their sub-category, all three of the watches exhibit luminescent hands and indices, sapphire crystal glass, and a scratch-proof ceramic bezel. As well as this, they have been rigorously tested to ensure that they meet the high standards required in extreme environments for sports lovers and adventure seekers alike.

The All-New Seiko Prospex Black Series ‘Night Vision’ Watches

Seiko Prospex Black Series ‘Night Vision’ Solar Speedtimer Chronograph SSC923P1

A new edition within the Prospex Black Series collection, this ‘Night Vision’ Speedtimer watch exhibits a grey dial with green ‘LumiBrite Pro’ coated hands and indices. The Night Vision pieces are the first Seiko watches to feature green LumiBrite Pro as it is the easiest colour to see in the dark. In addition, it has a higher-intensity glow that is much brighter and lasts much longer. Sapphire glass protects the dial and a scratch-proof ceramic bezel surrounds it. For added functionality, there is a day-date aperture at 4:30 pm. In classic Prospex ‘Speedtimer’ style, this timepiece has chronograph functionality, allowing for the measurement of elapsed time. Completing the watch’s design is a black nylon strap with white topstitching. A solar-powered V192 calibre powers this watch, so it is charged by both natural and artificial light. Moreover, the movement is accurate to +/- 15 seconds per month.

Seiko Prospex Black Series ‘Night Vision’ Turtle Diver SRPK43K1

Similar to the Speedtimer model, this watch exhibits a grey dial with green LumiBrite coated hands and indices. The luminescent ensures that the dial can be easily read, even when underwater. A scratch-proof ceramic bezel surrounds the sapphire glass and a day-date function can be seen at the 3 o’clock position. In true Prospex ‘Turtle’ style, the case shape softly curves around the wrist. Not only does this resemble the shell of a turtle but it also provides great comfort to the wearer. Adding on to this comfort, and completing the watch’s design, is a black stainless steel bracelet. An in-house automatic 4R36 movement provides this watch with a 40-hour power reserve. With a water resistance of up to 200 metres, it is the perfect companion for both deep sea dives and land-based adventures.

Seiko Prospex Black Series ‘Night Vision’ Sumo Diver Limited Edition SPB433J1

Limited to only 3,500 pieces worldwide, this Prospex Sumo has a strong and bold outer appearance. Again, like the other ‘Night Vision’ watches, this model features a grey dial with LumiBrite coated hands and indices. Following through with the same key characteristics of this series, a sapphire crystal protects the dial and a ceramic bezel surrounds it. The top of the unidirectional bezel sees a luminescent marker; this allows the diver to always read the correct time. As well as this, there is a date aperture at 3 o’clock which provides the watch with extra functionality. Adding great value to the watch is the limited edition issue number that is engraved on the case back. The timepiece is powered by an in-house automatic 6R35 movement that provides a 70-hour power reserve. This is housed within a 45mm stainless steel case. Finalising the watch’s design is a black stainless steel bracelet.

This trio of watches go on sale in February 2024, so if they have caught your eye, make sure to mark the date in your calendar!
