5 Must-Have Omega Look-Alikes

With its long history of producing high-quality timepieces, Omega is arguably one of the most sought-after watch brands in the world. The functional and beautiful watches that the brand produces are some of the most desirable on the market; however, they are also some of the most expensive. As a result of this, many watchmakers now create look-alikes. While the watch industry frowns upon exact copies, look-alikes are often embraced. They are a fantastic way to introduce a brand’s style into a watch but with a more affordable price tag. So, if the idea of having this type of watch is appealing to you, keep reading for our 5 must-have Omega look-alikes.

Bulova Men’s Lunar Pilot Chronograph Black Dial / Stainless Steel Bracelet and Black Leather Strap Set 96K111

This Bulova Lunar Pilot is a popular look-alike for the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch. The Speedmaster Moonwatch is one of the world’s most iconic timepieces; it has even been a part of all six moon landings! It is an impressive representation of Omega’s adventuring pioneering spirit. The Lunar Pilot’s relationship to the Omega Speedmaster is a rare one in the watch world. They share several characteristics, and when placed next to each other are a near perfect match. Both watches are constructed with a stainless steel case and bracelet, however the Bulova model also comes with a black leather option.

The Bulova watch features a black chronograph dial with a tachymeter display. It is adorned with luminous baton indices and hands that aid readability in low-light conditions. The case houses a high-precision quartz movement that provides the watch with a power reserve of up to 42 hours. Similarly, the Omega Speedmaster has a black chronograph dial and is adorned with luminous indices and hands. The only major difference is that a self-winding movement powers this model rather than a quartz one. Overall, this Bulova Lunar Pilot is a fantastic and affordable look-alike for the Omega Speedmaster.

Roamer Optimus | Automatic | Blue Dial | Blue Leather Strap 983983 41 45 05

This Roamer Optimus is a great look-alike watch for the Omega De Ville Trésor. The De Ville Trésor is characterised by its thin and elegant case that originally housed the legendary 30mm calibre. More than half a century later, it continues to impress with one of the most advanced mechanical movements in present day. Whilst the relationship between these two models isn’t perfect, there are several characteristics that the two of them share. Both watches are constructed with a stainless steel case and are secured to the wrist with a blue leather strap.

The Roamer watch features a blue sunray dial with a date aperture at 3 o’clock. It is adorned with applied silver baton indices and silver hour, minute and second hands. For great durability, the watch is protected by scratch-resistant sapphire glass. Similarly, the Omega model has a blue dial and exhibits silver baton indices and hands. There is a date aperture which is situated at 6 o’clock rather than 3 o’clock. The Omega De Ville Trésor is also protected by sapphire glass, however it has an anti-reflective treatment on both sides. Even though there are slight differences between the two, the Roamer Optimus is still a great look-alike for the De Ville Trésor. With its attractive price tag and greater levels of water-resistance, it is a fantastic watch for those who like the design of the Omega but at a more affordable price.

EBEL Wave Lady – 8 Diamonds (30mm) Mother of Pearl Dial / 18K Rose Gold & Stainless Steel 1216324

This EBEL Wave Lady is a look-alike watch for the Omega Constellation. The dramatic and enduring design of the Omega Constellation is characterised by its iconic ‘half-moon claws’ on the case and bracelet; a similar design to this can be seen on the EBEL Wave Lady. The most distinctive features in both watches are the crystal-set indices. Both brands utilise them, however the EBEL model has 8 rather than 12 like the Omega does. As well as this, both watches have rose gold-coloured bezels and crowns which gives them a luxurious look. They are also both protected by scratch-resistant sapphire glass for optimal durability.

Highlighting the elegant design of the EBEL is a white mother-of-pearl dial with 8 diamonds that act as replacements for some of the indices. The stainless steel case houses a Swiss quartz movement that ensures high levels of reliability and precision; you can wear this watch knowing it won’t fail on you. Reminiscent of the Omega, the two-tone stainless steel bracelet of the EBEL features wave-shaped links. Although the Omega appears to be a standard rose gold colour, it is 18K Sedna™ gold. This alloy is Omega’s unique version of 18K rose gold and it uses a different chemical formula to their standard version. The self-winding movement of the Omega is another key difference between the watches. Whilst it still provides great levels of accuracy, it relies on movement and energy from the wearer rather than a battery like quartz watches do.

Citizen Women’s Eco-Drive (33mm) Blue Diamond-Set Dial / Stainless Steel Bracelet EW2700-54L

Due to its classic and elegant design, the Omega De Ville Prestige has a large and loyal following. Citizen’s Eco-Drive model offers a very similar design but at a fraction of the price, making it a very popular look-alike. The Citizen model exhibits a gorgeous pale blue dial that features 8 diamond and 4 silver baton indices. A date aperture is positioned at 3 o’clock, whereas on the Omega model, it is at 6 o’clock. A stainless steel case frames the dial and sapphire crystals protect it. Securing the watch on the wrist is a comfortable stainless steel bracelet. The Omega model also has a blue dial, but it is a blue mother-of-pearl; it is adorned with crystal-set indices as well as Roman numerals. A stainless steel bracelet also secures the watch to the wrist, so the design of the Citizen and Omega is almost identical.

However, a noticeable difference between the two models is that the Citizen is powered by an Eco-Drive movement, whilst the Omega has a self-winding movement. The Eco-Drive movement in the Citizen is powered by both natural and artificial light, so regular battery changing or winding its not required.

Delma Shell Star Quartz | Stainless Steel Bracelet | Orange Bezel 41701.676.6.151

The striking bright orange bezel of this Delma model has caused many watch enthusiasts to compare it to the Omega Ultra Deep Seamaster Planet Ocean 6000M. Both watches exhibit a minutes scale on the bezel, which allows for optimal functionality. The Ultra Deep made history when it reached the deepest place on Earth, and following that world record dive, the watch has been made available to the public. The essence of this iconic watch is perfectly captured throughout the Delma model, and at a fraction of the price, is a great look-alike. The Delma model features a black dial that is contrasted by luminous orange indices and hands. Alongside this, there is a date aperture positioned at 3 o’clock. The brushed stainless steel case houses a reliable quartz movement which powers the watch. Securing the watch to the wrist is a stainless steel bracelet.

This timepiece is water-resistant up to 200 metres, and in 1975 was introduced as Delma’s first professional diver’s watch. While the water-resistance on this watch seems impressive, it is nothing in comparison to that on the Omega. Having performed 9 tests in real ocean conditions during its development, the Omega is water-resistant to 6000 metres. Similarly to the Delma, this Omega has luminous hands and indices; however there is no date aperture. A self-winding movement, with a power reserve of 60 hours, powers the Omega. Evidently, high-quality materials have been used in the construction of the Omega. So, if you want a watch that represents this but at a lower price the Delma Shell Star is a great look-alike.
