Top 5 Striped Dial Watches

One trend we have noticed steadily but quietly gaining traction over the years is the striped dial.  Of course, there’s something charming about a bit of pattern or texture on your dial. After all, it’s a great way of putting a subtle twist on the classic dial design in a way that’s bold yet subtle. However, the striped dial is one that particularly stands out. It never seems to go out of style. This is mainly because it can manifest in so many different forms, from bold and intentional, to understated and sporty. Indeed, the following models we round up show just some of the different forms this trend can take. So, if you think a striped dial watch might be for you, read on for our Top 5 Striped Dial Watches

Herbelin Cap Camarat Quartz Chronograph (42mm) Black Dial / Black Rubber 37645A14TR

A classic renowned for its striped dial is the Herbelin Cap Camarat. Although there is no shortage of striped Cap Camarats, one of our favourites is this chronograph model. The striped black dial provides a visually intriguing backdrop for the three subdials it features. To aid their legibility, each subdial features a rose gold-tone framing which matches the central hands and surrounding baton indices.

Giving a robust shell to this beautiful diak design, a hardwearing stainless steel case houses the watch and its inner quartz movement. A good fit for a variety of wrist sizes, the case measures 42mm in diameter and is fastened to the wrist with a comfortable black rubber strap.

Alpina Alpiner 4 Automatic (44mm) Green Dial / Stainless Steel AL-525GR5AQ6B

With its refreshing forest green striped dial, this Alpina Alpiner is another more than worthwhile pick. Giving you the best of both worlds, each Alpiner model fuses modern technologies with the collection’s traditional core design. Consequently, the Alpiner series boasts outstanding anti-magnetism, anti-shock and 100 metres of water resistance.

The stainless steel case and bracelet on this model reinforce this durability whilst providing a beautiful shell for this Alpiner’s design. Complementing the green tone of its dial and echoing the tone of the case are silver-tone pointed indices and hands. To ensure that the dial is readable even in low light conditions, all the hands and indices feature a luminous inlay. Beneath the surface of the dial, an automatic AL-525 calibre beats at a frequency of 28,800 and keeps the watch functioning smoothly.

Luminox Navy Seal 3600 Series Black Military Quartz Watch XS.3615

Luminox has a reputation for its highly durable and tactical portfolio of watches, including this Navy Seal 3600 military watch. Taking centre stage is its black-striped dial, dressed with white Arabic numerals, baton indices and hands. Meanwhile, a red second hand and matching red minute markers add some dynamics to the design.

But, encompassing some of our favourite Luminox attributes, this Navy Seal 3600 has a lot beyond its striped dial to love. For example, the 45mm case uses the brand’s exclusive black Carbonox™ to ensure the watch can withstand any adventure. Moreover, additional features like its sapphire crystal, screw-in protected crown and stainless steel case back help to seal in the watch’s 200 metres of water resistance. Finally, topping off this design is a black rubber strap.

Roamer Primeline Daydate II Blue Stainless Steel 981666 41 05 50

Blue dials are also having their moment recently, making this Roamer one to keep your eye on. Allowing the blue colour and striped detailing to take centre stage, steel-framed luminescent baton indices and hands adorn the dial. Moreover, both the 12 o’clock weekday display and the magnified date display at 3 o’clock add some extra practicality to the design.

Encasing the dial, a sapphire crystal locks in the watch’s 50 metres of water resistance. Meanwhile, the watch’s 42mm stainless steel casing shields the Swiss-made automatic movement from damage. To top off the design, a matching stainless steel bracelet fastens the design to the wrist.

Seiko 5 Sports X Honda Super Cub Limited Edition SRPK37K1

We might be cheating with this one, but our final contender is this Seiko x Honda collaboration. It puts a sporty spin on the striped dial trend and takes its inspiration from the stripes of Honda’s world-renowned motorbike, the Super Cub. Consequently, its dual-tone blue-striped dial is adorned with several subtle features to pay homage to the Super Cub. For example, the 11, 12 and 1 o’clock markings imitate the motorbike’s headlights, whilst the Super Cub’s original wing logo can be found on both the crown and blue striped textile strap.

This Seiko Sports 5 boasts many practical functions, including (but not limited to) luminescent indices and hands, a day-date display, a stop-second function as well as a unidirectional rotating bezel. Within the model’s 42.5mm stainless steel case, the brand’s exclusive 4R36 calibre ticks away.
