The brand new Seiko Astron GPS Solar ‘Super Nova Green’ watch has been designed to mark the tenth anniversary of the GPS Solar Astron series. These watches were the world’s first GPS solar watches, making them an incredibly important piece of horological history. This new timepiece is limited to just 1,200 pieces worldwide. This limited edition status and the heritage behind this timepiece mean that it is set to be a very collectable item amongst fans of the brand.

Seiko Launches New Limited Edition Astron Watch

This brand-new timepiece is equipped with numerous features that make it the best of its kind. An in-house created 5 X Dual Time calibre provides the watch with advanced functionality to allow easy adjustment to Daylight Saving Time. In addition, the main dial can be switched from home to local time quickly. Every component of the GPS module has been re-engineered to enhance the speed and quality of the GPS connection. This timepiece is built on the heritage of the iconic Astron collection but has a sense of modernity that is epitomised by the advanced technology within.

The Dial and Movement

The dial of this watch expresses the brightness of a spectacular Super Nova. It exhibits an eye-catching green graduation design that is detailed with a radiation-pressed pattern and rose gold features. The dial features three sub-dials and a date aperture, ensuring that the wearer can track every second. The dial and its features are protected by sapphire glass, giving the watch a luxury edge with a good level of durability. A GPS solar movement powers this watch. It uses light energy to power each functionality of the timepiece.

The Case and Finishing Touches

The case and bracelet of this timepiece are some of its most striking features. Both the case and bracelet are made from titanium and exhibit a striking black tone. The case is treated with Seiko’s Super Hard Coating to make it more hardwearing. This case measures 43.1mm in diameter and 12.22mm in depth, creating a bold, yet comfortable, fit on the wrist.
