Coros is an American smartwatch and wearables brand that released its first product in 2016. Since then the brand has gone from strength to strength. Coros launched its first smartwatch in the summer of 2018. The brand’s focus is on creating high-performance durable smartwatches for adventurers and athletes alike. The timepieces of the brand are made with premium materials. Coros smartwatches, however, are not only for professional athletes. The brand offers watches that would fit into the lives of fitness enthusiasts of any level.
The Coros Vertix 2 is perhaps the brand’s most functional timepiece. The smartwatch has a large easily readable touch screen always-on memory LCD display. To ensure its durability, the display is covered by a sapphire crystal. The case measures 47 mm. The case and the bezel are made of a titanium alloy with a PVD coating. The orange silicone strap is perforated for extra comfort and breathability.
When it comes to functions, the Vertix 2 has a lot to offer. It features global topographical and landscape maps which are also available when offline. It also shows elevation details, checkpoints, GPS coordinates and storm alerts. The watch features a dual-frequency GNSS chipset. Amongst its sensors are an ECG sensor, an HR monitor, a gyroscope, a thermometer and a pulse oximeter. Additionally, the watch supports multiple types of workouts and structured workout programs. The watch is water-resistant up to 100 meters or 10 bars and has an impressive battery life of up to 140 hours of battery life in full GPS mode.
The Apex Pro Premium comes with a variety of sport features and is best suited to the athlete who is looking for a more lightweight option to the Vertix. The Apex Pro also has a 47 mm case. The case is made of aluminium making the watch lighter, however, due to the titanium alloy bezel, the watch retains its durability. The touch screen memory LCD display is protected by a sapphire crystal. A black silicone strap secures the watch.
The Apex Pro Premium has a range of preloaded workouts. It supports both popular sports, such as running, biking, skiing and triathlons, and less popular ones like whitewater rafting and windsurfing. The watch has multiple forms of navigation. It also supports a gyroscope, a compass and an accelerometer. In addition, the watch has 24/7 blood oxygen monitoring with altitude acclimation assistance. The watch is water-resistant up to 100 meters and has a battery life of up to 40 hours in full GPS mode and up to 100 hours in UltraMax GPS Mode.
The Apex Premium watch is ideal for amateur athletes. This watch’s case is 42 mm in diameter, however, the line offers a second size of 46 mm. The bezel of the watch is stainless steel. The display is a memory LCD covered by a sapphire crystal. The strap of the watch is purple silicone. The functions available on the timepiece are an HR monitor, ABC sensors and multiple forms of navigation. Like the Apex Pro and the Vertix 2 watch, the Apex has structured workout programs for multiple training areas. The watch has a battery life of up to 35/25 hours of battery life in full GPS mode and water resistance of up to 10 bars.
Last but not least of the Coros smartwatches is the PACE 2. This model is perhaps the brand’s most straightforward watch. The PACE 2 is a timepiece for those who enjoy fitness more as a hobby. Though with less features than the more high-performance models, the PACE 2 still holds its own. The watch has a memory LCD display with a Corning® Glass crystal. Its case and bezel are made of fibre-reinforced polymer. The model’s case and silicone strap have an appealing gold colour.
The watch has structured workout programs for running, biking, swimming and strength training. COROS Trainer is also available for advanced training and analysis to ensure you’re making positive progress towards your goals. It also has a compass, an HR monitor and a temperature sensor among other sensors. The watch is water-resistant to 5 bars or 50 meters and its battery life can last up to 30 hours in full GPS mode.
