Luminox is a brand that takes pride in being able to create products which aid the world’s heroes. Over the years the brand has created timepieces for some of the most elite forces on the planet such as the FBI and a number of Special Military forces. This year Luminox celebrates its long standing partnership of over 25 years with the US Navy SEALs. In commemoration of having created watches for and with feedback of the Navy SEALs, the brand launched the Luminox Master Carbon Seal 3800 Limited Edition also dubbed the “The only easy day was yesterday” watch, aptly named after the SEALs motto.
The Master Carbon watch’s case measures at 46 mm. The unidirectional bezel and the case are made out of Luminox’s patented material CARBONOX+. In contrast to the CARBONOX, the CARBONOX+ is made of 40% longer carbon fibres. It provides much the same benefits as the CARBONOX. It’s lightweight, scratch resistant and anti-allergenic. Added benefits to the upgraded material are its increased strength and an appealing grey colour. Perhaps its most distinctive feature is the visible carbon fiber pattern. Above the 12 o’clock hour-marker, on the bezel, a light tube protected by a sapphire crystal, is fitted for ease of readability. The scale etched into the bezel is coloured red up to the 15 minute marker and after it is left black.
The watch features a stainless steel screw down case back. An anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the black dial. Complementing it are a set of hour-markers. At the bottom edge of the dial is written “The only easy day was yesterday” in red, matching the bezel scale and the second’s hand. The watch is fitted with Luminox’s exclusive self-powered illumination which can remain glowing up to 25 years. The model is water resistant to 30 bars or 300 metres and has a screw-in stainless steel crown. A black rubber strap guarantees comfort and long-lasting wear. Features on the watch include a date aperture at the 3 o’clock position. It has a Swiss Quartz movement with calibre Ronda 715 HH6.
