The Victorinox FieldForce Chrono

The Victorinox FieldForce Chrono

This month marks the anniversary of the release of the Victorinox FieldForce Chrono models, a revival of one of the brand’s most classic collections. The FiledForce collection is a reimagination of its famous Chrono Classic collection. With its announcement, Victorinox sought to pay tribute to the brand’s roots. The practical yet sophisticated design of the watches has found their place in the heart and the heritage of the brand. A modern depiction of a line of exquisite historical models, the FieldForce stands out with its combination of the brand’s signature style and silhouette. The models from this collection are undisputedly distinctly Victorinox.

The Design

The FieldForce Chrono watches are also created with those same core characteristics. However, their design is elevated. They have a sportier, more dynamic style. The models are masculine and understated and have a subtle elegance to them. As with the rest of the FieldForce collection, they carry iconic to the brand features. A vibrant red second’s hand with a Swiss Army Knife as a counterweight stands out from the dial. Victorinox’s signature logo, a cross on a red shield, replaces the 12 o’clock hour marker. The models included below, alongside the other variations the Chrono model is available in, ensures anyone can find a watch to suit their taste. Whether you plan to have this as your everyday timepiece or it’s only for special occasions, the Victorinox FieldForce Chrono has the model for you.

The Features

As you might have guessed from the name, the FieldForce Chrono watches feature a chronograph function in the subdials. It also has a tachymeter, its scale engraved on the bezel. To ensure readability in any conditions, day or night, the watch has large sword-shaped hands and hour-makers which are large Arabic numerals. Both are filled with Super-LumiNova to guarantee the highest quality of luminescence. All variations of the model are water-resistant up to 10 bars or 100 metres. To increase durability, the dial is protected by a triple-coated anti-reflective scratch-scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The watch has a date aperture at the 6 o’clock position.

The Models

The Victorinox FieldForce Chrono

Victorinox Swiss Army | Mens Fieldforce | Chronograph | Blue Stainless Steel |

This watch has a traditional timeless look. The round case measures at 42 mm in diameter, 75 mm in height and weighs 146.5 grams. It and the bracelet are made of brushed stainless steel. The dial is in a deep navy blue, which matches the colour of the etched bezel. The subdials are in the same shade of blue, with the top two being textured. The blue colour complements the red accents and makes them stand out even more.

For a sleeker, more understated look, the stainless steel variation comes with a black dial as well. This is a similar variation to the previous watch and holds the same parameters. As with the other stainless steel model, the bezel matches the colour of the dial. The luminescent hands and hour markers stand out clearly against the black dial.

This watch offers a more modern spin on the dial design. Its features remain the same. The watch’s case is made of stainless steel. The dial is, however, white. The sundials are not textured. As the hour markers are luminescent, they blend in with the dial. This gives the model an appealing minimalist tone.  The model’s hands are dark grey. Contrasting the white dial is a matt black bezel. The black leather strap is contrasted by white topstitching, mimicking the colours of the dial. The strap makes the model’s design look more casual and rugged.

This model is a similar variation, different only by the colour of the dial. The stainless steel case measures at 42 mm in diameter and 11.9 mm in height. This and the previous model are more lightweight than the stainless steel variation, weighing at 82.5 grams. The dial is similar to that on the stainless steel models and has two textured subdials. The hour-markers and hands contrast the dial. The watch’s black leather strap with white topstitching completes the look.
