For the third consecutive year, Oris have announced their Movember Special Edition timepiece, to support, and raise awareness for men’s health, both mental and physical. The mission of Oris is to bring change for the better, turns to men’s health in the form a the stylish Oris Movember 2019 Edition, based on the iconic Chronoris. The watch has again been produced in support of the leading men’s health charity, Movemeber.

Movember is an organisation, and annual event, of course held in November, both of which aim to raise awareness of men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and the increasing rate of male suicide too. The Movember event is based on the idea of growing a mustache during the month of Movember, in order to raise awareness, and money too for those who wish to support the charities. The Movember foundation runs the charity event, with their goal to ‘change the face of men’s health’.

As part of the campaign, Oris are also working with New York Yankees‘ manager, Aaron Boone, who fosters community and brotherhood to build a stronger team. This work will continue to further enhance the message of Movember, and ultimately support the goal of improved men’s health.

Building Stronger Communities

As part of the release of the Oris Movember 2019 Edition, Oris and Movember have come together to bring change through community. This is to show that people from all walks of life can come together to support one common goal, which in this case is the Yankees fans supporting their team on the field!

Similarly, Oris are looking to bring their own community together, in a bid to bring change for the better. Not only are they spearheading a worldwide campaign for fundraising, but Oris are also donating a portion of the proceeds of the Oris Movember 2019 Edition to the Movember foundation!

Look after yourself – and each other

As part of the campaign, Oris, Movember and Aaron Boone have all worked tirelessly to raise awareness and make change. Movember have also produced a list of five tips on how to live a longer and healthier life.

Around the world, and men die an average of six years younger than women, largely due to reasons that are preventable. Take a look at the list below to see how you can make positive changes to your life, thanks to the support of Movember.

1. Spend time with your favourite people

It is important to have, and stay connected to your best mates, whether they are family or friends, it is important to make time. Catch up regularly, and ask how each other are, with meaning.

2. Talk more, listen more

Research shows that we’re here for our mates, but that we don’t rely on them ourselves. You don’t have to be an expert or the only solution.

3. Get yourself checked out

At the age of 50, it is important to talk to your doctor about prostate cancer. Do this at 45 if you’re black, or have a father or brother with prostate cancer.

4. Examine your bits and pieces

Get to know what’s normal for your body. Check for irregularities, or lumps and bumps regularly, and if something doesn’t feel right, go and see your doctor.

5. Get up and get moving

Being more active and finding ways to move more have been proven to help both mentally and physically. It can be as simple as going for a walk rather than driving.

The Movember Chronoris watch is on it’s way, so be sure to keep an eye out! This is an automatic winding watch, with date display, based on one of the Swiss brands most popular models. There are multiple variations to choose from, including a metal strap, NATO strap, and the classic brown leather strap with moustache engraving!
