In this post we’re taking a trip back to the future with Delorean as they have recently announced that they are going to be making a series of DMC timepieces for you to be able to purchase. The models are going to be released this autumn and are set to be very popular amongst fans of the 80’s classic Back to the Future.

The film takes place in small town Claifornia where teen Marty Mcfly played Michael J. Fox is thrown back into the 50’s when an experiment by his eccentric and quite frankly ma scientist friend Doc Brown who is played by Christopher Lloyd goes awry. They travel through time in an extremely customised DeLorean car. Whilst in the past Marty encounters the younger versions of his parents and has to ensure that they fall in love otherwise he’ll cease to exist. Even more dauntingly, Marty has to return to his own time and save the life of Doc Brown.

As of yet there are no retailers that have committed to accepting the models to sell in their stores however DMC will be selling them on their website as soon as they are released to the public. Unfortunately there is little we know about the watches as DMC haven’t released any specs or images other than the ones below:

The watches are estimated to cost £120.00 and I know I will certainly be buying one as I am a massive fan of the film. DMC have teamed up to make a watch before to commemorate the film but at a much higher price point. Romain Jerome manufactured a watch that was actually made out of parts of the delorean car. It featured brushed stainless steel bezel containing elements from the original bodywork of a DeLorean sports car as well as aesthetic styles from the car that inspired some of the watch parts including small seconds counter recalls the car’s tail-lights. Rhodiumed chronograph second and counters’ hands inspired by automobile dashboards: Minute counter evokes the original design of the wheel rims. They cost a fair bit though costing £10,000 and only a handful of fans have ever owned or seen one.
