I bought the Garmin Fenix 6 Pro as I wanted a proper running watch, but still retain some of the smartwatch functionality that my old Apple watch had. The watch is fantastic, the amount of health detail you can get from it (via a very good Garmin Connect app), is unbelievable. Firstly, if you want a running watch look no further. As you would expect with Garmin, the watch is very simple to use, pressing the side buttons instead of the face, for me, is much easier to start, pause and stop your runs. The screen is the perfect size to have multiple fields showing data on your heart rate, pace, time and millage. I have a Strava account and the runs sync up seamlessly to it, although the Garmin Connect app does delve into the run data just as well. The look of the watch is great (I went for the titanium model), but it's backed up by a multitude of great looking faces that add to the overall look of the watch. You can add data fields to the watch face, or keep it smart and simple. I've used Fenix 6 for a couple of runs now and it keeps track very well. Overall it's a fantastic watch, looks great, feels extremely comfortable and has countless possibilities with the amount of data it captures and the different apps you can get through the Garmin store. Very easy and simple to set up and the battery life is fantastic.

This Fenix replaces a Fenix3, and its clear there has been a lot of development during that time. The Fenix3 was a great recording device that provided a lot of detail during endurance races with stats that could be analysed, however the watch now uses the data to provide useful info directly via the watch.
This info certainly seems to aid training by incorporating rest/ sleep/ stress based on HR and performance during activities.
I can see how this watch will aid my training and help reduce the normal approach of too much intensity too frequently in workouts, by informing me of my current levels.
On a 'look and feel' front, it is smaller and lighter than the Fenix3 meaning its more comfortable on the wrist. I wouldn't say I thought the 3 was uncomfortable, but this feels to fit better, whilst having a bigger, clearer screen which can relay more data more clearly.
Overall, a great bit of kit that if you train a lot, it will be a big help. I hope the longevity/toughness of the product is in line with the usefulness.

The Garmin Fenix 6 Sapphire Titanium is my second Fenix watch. It has replaced a 2-year-old Fenix 5 Sapphire. I use it for pool swimming, outdoor swimming, windsurfing (JMG wind-kitesurfing app), sea kayaking, standup paddleboarding, surfsking, hill walking and mountainbiking. The 6 is way ahead of the 5 in multiple ways. Number one for me was that the wrist optical heart rate now works while swimming, previously I used the Garmin swim chest heart rate monitor with the Fenix 5 which was a faff. For me, the wrist HR measurement tallies very closely with previous chest HR measurements. In the pool with the Fenix 6 , the number of length count works better than the Fenix 5 did until a recent software upgrade on that watch.



The second major improvement for me was the availability of maps in the midsized Fenix. I do use a handheld GPS with maps and paper maps while sea kayaking, hillwalking and mountain biking but the watch maps are great for other activities. The supplied Garmin Topo maps do not have contour lines so I have downloaded the Talkytoaster TT50 map of Britain and Ireland (£12) and it is surprisingly clear. The Fenix 6 integration with Garmin Connect desktop and mobile is really good and seems improved with regard to synching over the Fenix 5. I also use Garmin Basecamp on a Mac for route planning and creation of waypoints. This still works well with the Fenix 6 Sapphire but the first time you connect the watch to Basecamp it will take an age to recognise the installed maps. On subsequent occasions, the watch registers quickly. One thing to note with the Fenix 6 Pro/Sapphire watches is that they do not use standard USB mode to connect to a computer like the Fenix 5. They now use MTP USB mode for better music compatibility. You can still see the watch Garmin folder using explorer in Windows 10 but in Mac OS the watch does not show up. If you want to see the Garmin folder on a Mac to load a new map, for example, you will need to load a little Mac program called Android File Transfer. This has nothing to do with having a mobile phone, it just happens that it also shows the Garmin folder in a connected MTP Garmin watch. 



All the health parameters seem to work better in the 6 than the 5, particularly VO2 Max but also intensity minutes and training status. I have not used the new music capabilities but I do like the way I can select certain notifications to come across from my iPhone. The GPS on the Fenix 5 worked well for me but on the F6 Titanium it is more consistently accurate and in a built-up area the track will now show which side of the road I was on whereas the Fenix 5 often jumped from one side to the other. Whether this improvement is due to the titanium case, the new Sony GPS chip or the addition of Gallileo to the GPS satellites I do not know. I have found the battery life on both the F5 and F6 to be really great for everyday use. On a multi-day sea kayaking trip (when I use the GPS all day, which uses a lot of power) I can recharge the watch every couple of days from a Lithium-ion storage battery with USB output. 



The titanium Fenix 6 is noticeably and pleasingly lighter than my previous stainless steel Fenix 5. With regard to robustness and wear and tear of Garmin watches, I can comment on a 2-year-old Fenix 5 Sapphire. Despite heavy outdoor use (I do not view this watch as a piece of jewellery) the sapphire remained unscratched. If you look closely there are some fine scratches round the edge of the black DLC coating on the stainless steel bezel of my Fenix 5 Sapphire. I view these as the patina of great times with the watch. The original Garmin silicone rubber strap showed some cracking at 20 months and I replaced it with another. I am aware that the titanium bezel on the Fenix 6 is softer than the DLC coated stainless steel of my Fenix 5, so I am expecting some scratches but that will not bother me in the slightest. If you look on the Garmin support forums you will find so many complaints it might put you off buying a Fenix 6. Do not let those put you off. Many complainers do not realise the limitations of wrist-worn heart rate and GPS devices and have unreasonably high expectations. As a retired medical scientist, who likes to measure things, I am more than satisfied. If you meet a real problem, Garmin UK based support team are first class. I have not contacted them about my Fenix watches but did so in the past year about a problem with my Garmin GPSMap 66s handheld. They solved the issue in a most helpful way. 



Lastly the Fenix 6 Sapphire seems to be pretty good at telling the time too!

I recently bought a Fenix 6 from FCW, the service was very good. Ordered on Friday afternoon and it arrived the next morning.
The watch is very nice, just the right size for me. The 6x was too large.
The weight is good although heavier than the all plastic Garmins.
The Titanium case looks darker and less reflective than on photos which I prefer.
The band is comfortable and fits well.
I had no problems setting it up with my phone and getting music on it.
I won't go into it's functionality as there are lots of great pro reviews on the Web.
The charging cable that comes with it is pretty bad. I bought a pair of charging docks from Amazon which are much better and let you lay the watch down when charging.
Overall a very nice watch and amazing service from FCW.

Just purchased the Garmin Fenix 6 Pro Sapphire titanium from FirstClassWatches as an upgrade from my previous Garmin Fenix 3 Sapphire (see photo for size comparison).
Very pleased with my purchase....this watch is head and shoulders above the Fenix 3 (which has served me well for 4 years).
The watch looks superb in the flesh and was delivered next day (Saturday) from FirstClassWatches even though the order was placed late in the day at 1630hrs on the Friday.
Great upgrade from the previous Fenix 3 version. Has loads of cool features such as;

Garmin Pay (Santander are the only UK bank that support this currently)
Music storage via Spotify, Deezer and Amazon music which can then be played through bluetooth headphones (so no need to carry phone with you in the gym or outside running)
Optical heart rate sensor records HR while swimming (need to have watch fairly snug on wrist but it is fairly accurate)
Body battery (measures your fatigue/stress levels throughout the day)
Pulse Ox monitoring
Much brighter, easier to read display than earlier variations and also the watch is so much lighter and less obtrusive than the previous variants. Perfect for wearing every day and also for being active in.
Additonal options in the training fields such as Cardio, yoga and many others....the watch also picks up on what exercise you are doing so it records in garmin connect and displays the activity with number of reps ( eg bicep curls, skipping, jumping Jack's, etc.....). Also very clear countdown timer bleep when you set up training program in an activity you are recording....so you don't miss 'rest' periods you have factored in.
Pace pro which enables you to factor in hills etc when you are running a race/course so you can adjust your pace accordingly to achieve a certain goal.

Maps which can be displayed on your screen when you are doing an activity and you can also program a course and upload using garmin connect so it will guide you when you are in unfamiliar territory.

There is so much more that this watch does and if you are considering an upgrade then don't hesitate as it is a massive improvement. Buying from FirstClassWatches was also a pleasant experience with the watch being delivered the very next day 18hrs after I placed the order.

The Garmin Finix6 is the best smart/fitness watch I have owned so far. I had Apple, Samsung and Fitbit before, but none compare to this watch in terms of measuring and reporting all your vital signs, the Garmin is the best if you are living an active life.

I’ve upgraded to this watch from fenix 5x and I really love the colours of this one.
It’s also smaller/ lighter and got bigger resolution.
There are many more functions than 5x that I’m just finding out about as I go along.
Overall I’m super happy with this watch and the service from first class watches was exceptional - I’ve ordered on Saturday and had watch with me on Sunday!
