The History of U-Boat Watches<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Although U-Boat was founded in the year 2000, its roots trace back to 1942. This year saw Italian watchmaker Ilvo Fontana commissioned by the Italian Navy to create timepieces for its pilots. These watches would offer maximum visibility and water resistance, with a strong and distinctive design. However, for unknown reasons, this project was scrapped before any of these watches could reach the wrists of the naval officers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luckily, the designs, colour samples and materials were preserved for over 60 years and in 2000, Italo Fontana, Ilvo’s grandson, discovered these precious designs. He made it his goal to bring them to life, and in doing so, founded the U-Boat brand. The U-Boat brand is known for its large case sizes, left-hand crowns and unmistakable aesthetic. Moreover, each watch is crafted in Tuscany, Italy; combining Italian craftsmanship with Swiss precision movements. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the years, U-Boat has introduced various collections which pay homage to Ilvo’s keen eye for detail. The initial pencil sketches depicted a robust watch that would guarantee maximum water resistance and a legible dial, combined with a distinctive style. Regardless of the collection, each new timepiece draws upon these features and is a creation of exclusive Tuscan manufacture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, U-Boat watches are celebrated for their unique style and have garnered a following among watch enthusiasts and celebrities worldwide; such as Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Tom Cruise. The brand’s dedication to craftsmanship and innovation ensures that each timepiece stands out in the luxury watch market. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It goes without saying that the U-Boat portfolio is nothing short of impressive. The U-Boat Darkmoon SS watch is a distinctive timepiece that combines Italian craftsmanship with innovative design. Its 44mm stainless steel case houses a noble green soleil dial that’s filled with oil; creating a unique “no-glass” illusion and enhancing legibility. A small air bubble within the dial compensates for temperature variations, ensuring optimal performance. Powered by a Swiss Ronda 712.3 quartz movement, the Darkmoon offers precision and reliability. The watch is complemented by a durable black vulcanised rubber strap, providing both comfort and style. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

U-Boat Classico 45 Tungsteno CAS2<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The U-Boat Classico 45 Tungsteno CAS2 is a distinguished timepiece that exemplifies Italian craftsmanship and innovative design. Featuring a 45mm stainless steel case, it is complemented by a polished tungsten bezel, enhancing its durability and aesthetic appeal. The watch is powered by a precise automatic movement, ensuring reliable timekeeping. Its beige dial is adorned with luminous black indices and hands, providing excellent legibility. A date aperture at 9 o’clock adds to its functionality. The timepiece is completed with a cognac brown laser ages leather strap, offering both comfort and style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Housed in a 46mm stainless steel case, it features a unidirectional rotating bezel with a two-tone ceramic insert, enhancing both durability and aesthetic appeal. The gradient dial transitions from a vibrant blue hue to deep black, ensuring excellent legibility underwater. Powered by a Swiss automatic movement, the watch offers a 38-hour power reserve and is water-resistant up to 300 meters; making it suitable for professional diving. Additional features include a 24-hour indicator, date display, and U-Boat’s patented crown protection system. The timepiece is completed with a black vulcanized rubber strap. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
