{"id":8070,"date":"2018-02-28T09:30:56","date_gmt":"2018-02-28T09:30:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.firstclasswatches.co.uk\/blog\/?p=8070"},"modified":"2019-07-03T16:28:46","modified_gmt":"2019-07-03T15:28:46","slug":"telling-time-middle-age","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.firstclasswatches.co.uk\/blog\/2018\/02\/telling-time-middle-age\/","title":{"rendered":"Telling Time in the Middle Age"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>A few facts on telling the time in the middle age&#8230;<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The aspect of time is an inevitable and unchangeable process, it has only been in the last few centuries that we have developed the capability to record it. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first mechanics to be able to tell time, although vague, began in the 12th century and it was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/history\/historic_figures\/edward_iii_king.shtml\">Edward III<\/a> who first displayed timepieces in his castles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The division of time was based mainly on astrology which meant that the division of hours was derived from the amount of sunlight and this was divided into 12 equal segments.
