\"Casio<\/p>\n

Its going to be a huge year for Casio<\/a>, the brand who marked their 35th anniversary at the end of last year. We even wrote a post about one of the watches they showcased there called the Casio G-Shock Rangeman<\/a>. Casio<\/a>\u00a0UK has also set their sights on some of their iconic retro models which they have revamped to give them a modern feel, these models were first designed in 1983 when the DW-5600 designs were cutting edge. Nowadays they are a classic style design worn and loved by thousands around the world.<\/p>\n

I first saw these when I started at first class watches and even then with only a basic knowledge about watches I knew this design it was very popular when I was at school everyone wanted one. Interestingly they were inspired by the ’80s street culture that was in vogue around the time the first G-SHOCK was released. The original was the DW-5600 which was such an amazing model, it incorporated the bold colouring and great functionality that made the DW-5000 series a world favourite. It’s no secret that bright bold colours were definitely in style in the ’80s and designers would always combine colours to create vivid looks with fantastic arrays of colour.<\/p>\n

The new Throwback collection models are a refreshing blast from the past which is sure to entice retro enthusiasts and vintage collections to add to their collections with one or all of these new models. The watch has a number of features and functions including 12\/24 hour format which allows the time to be displayed in either 12 hour or 24 hour format, an auto calendar so once set it will always display the correct date, the case is made from resin and it also has a countdown timer which is basically a stopwatch which counts down instead of up. Once it hits 0 the time emits a 10 second signal tone and it can have a max countdown range of 24 hours.<\/p>\n

The watches glass is made from a hard mineral crystal glass to protect it from scratches as much as possible. The throwback models also features a stopwatch and its shock resistant construction protects the inner workings from hard impact or vibrations, the watch has an illuminator which is an electro-luminescent panel that caused the entire face to glow for easy reading under poor or low lighting conditions. The watch not only has a beep alert when a countdown timer and a stopwatch alert but the watch also flashes to alert the wearer.<\/p>\n

Each of the new models are \u00a3100 and are available online now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
