In exciting news, Fortis<\/a> has unveiled its all-new Novonaut N-42 AMADEE-24 watch! Crafted in the spirit of discovery, this Novonaut paves the way to Mars. More specifically, it supports the analog astronauts on their simulation mission in Armenia 2024; called AMADEE-24<\/a>. Setting a new standard for luxury in tool watches, this model boasts subtle gold accents and Lumicast numerals. Moreover, it’s the first Novonaut to be made of titanium. The All-New Fortis Novonaut N-42 AMADEE-24<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Case and Dial<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This Novonaut features a matte black dial with a wavy pattern from 11 to 5 o’clock. While some may think it is just a design feature, it represents the axis of Mars; tilting at 25.2 degrees. Applied Lumicast\u00ae Arabic numerals alongside metallic hour and minute hands with SuperLumiNova\u00ae X1 and golden stop seconds with SuperLuminova\u00ae X1 adorn the dial. And while they ensure readability in low-light conditions, they also enhance the appearance of the watch. The dial also boasts subtle gold accents, which reinforce elements of luxury into the watch. Other features of the watch, which help to increase its functionality, include a day\/date aperture at 3 o’clock, a running seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock and a 30-minute counter sub-dial at 12 o’clock. Acting as a constant reminder of the AMADEE-24 mission in Armenia, a colourful mission badge features at 6 o’clock. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For optimal durability and clarity, a high-quality sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on both sides encases the dial. While this Novonaut is built on the same platform as its familiar models, there are several differences. First and foremost, the 42mm case of this Novonaut is made entirely of titanium. Corrosion-resistant and robust, it makes for an extremely lightweight watch. A black bidirectional Sirius bezel with a SuperLuminova\u00ae X1 60-minute scale and a communication delay-tracker frames the dial. The bezel also features a countdown function with two 10-minute segments; representing the time it takes for communications to travel from Earth to Mars. Moreover, to give the watch its impressive 200 metres of water resistance, it features a screw-down crown with an fkm triple-gasket system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Movement and Finishing Touches <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Tested and approved by the Swedish Space Corporation<\/a>, a Fortis Werk 17 automatic manufacture calibre fuels the watch. Beating at 28.800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) and with a column wheel chronograph for enhanced reliability, the Fortis Watchmakers in Grenchen regulates it to chronometer standards. Furthermore, the movement provides the watch with a 60-hour power reserve. So whether you’re exploring Mars or set firmly on Earth, it is an ideal companion for everyday wear. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matching the case, a titanium block bracelet with a push-button clasp and easy micro-adjustment system concludes the design of this Novonaut N-42 AMADEE-24. Its lightweight nature guarantees optimal comfort on the wrist; something of great importance, especially when on missions.
