They have invited us to experience the incredible atmosphere of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clipperroundtheworld.com\/\">Clipper Round the World Race<\/a>\u00a0official start which is this year at the Liverpool&#8217;s Albert Docks on 18th, 19th and 20th August and share in the incredible atmosphere as twelve Clipper 70&#8242; racing yachts begin their epic race over 40,000 miles and 11 months.<\/p>\n<p>Elliot Brown have also announced that they will be in Liverpool for the 3 days up to race start on Sunday 20th August and would love to hear and see all of their fans and watch enthusiasts. The Clipper Race is one of the biggest challenges of the natural world and an endurance test like no other. The race is\u00a0a record breaking 40,000 nautical miles long and contestants have to battle it our around the world on a 70-foot ocean racing yacht. What makes this even more of a challenge is that\u00a0no previous sailing experience necessary so anyone can enter however be warned this is not for the faint of heart.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cYOU WILL NEVER CONQUER OR MASTER THE OCEAN BUT YOU CAN ENDURE IT. MOTHER NATURE IS AN UNFORGIVING MISTRESS, ALWAYS WITH ONE LAST TRICK UP HER SLEEVE FOR YOU WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT.\u201d &#8211; SIR ROBIN KNOX-JOHNSTON<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"SEATTLE PACIFIC CHALLENGE (You had my heart)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ZO5Wr-R3Og0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2>HISTORY OF THE RACE<\/h2>\n<p>The race\u2019s increase in size is almost immeasurable since the first Clipper Race crew\u00a0left Plymouth in October 1996 on board eight 60-foot yachts.\u00a0To date there are more than 4,000 people and three generations of Clipper ocean racing fleets that have competed in this gruelling challenge testing the limits of each individual on board the boats. They much each take the same route however this changes year on year to keep the even unique. These boats have proven to be faster and more dynamic than any of the previous Clipper Race yachts. There is twelve 70-foot yachts which make up the fleet of the world\u2019s largest ocean racing yachts.
