Seiko<\/a> has announced beautiful new Presage Craftsmanship models, which are available to preorder from today. With their beautifully crafted dial designs, the new launches extend the legacy of the existing Presage Craftsmanship line. This collection celebrates the brand\u2019s Japanese heritage as well as \u2018Takumi\u2019 and the expertise of highly specialised craftspeople. For those who appreciate classic watchmaking, the Presage Craftsmanship is a favourite for its mechanical and handcrafted designs created using a unique fusion of contemporary technology and traditional techniques. The new models are no exception to the collection\u2019s reputation, featuring a choice of either a beautiful enamel or sturdy urushi lacquer dial made by hand. But, with plenty else to love about these models, let’s dive right into their core specifications.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a pure white enamel dial at the heart of the design, the first new Presage colourway is certainly enviable. The creation of each dial uses the expertise and handiwork of master craftsman Mitsuru Yokosawa and his team, guaranteeing their quality. For optimised legibility, upon it are slim grey baton indices to contrast the three blue central hands. One of the updated features of this new model is its dual-curved sapphire crystal. Its slim design means that the Pure White has a slimmer profile than its predecessors, making it sit even more elegantly on the wrist.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another refined detail is the watch\u2019s stainless steel case with readjusted proportions to foreground the dial’s beautiful craftsmanship. Within it, Seiko\u2019s automatic 6R55 calibre powers the watch. Impressively, it boasts a full three-day power reserve and is the first time the movement is making its appearance in a Presage Craftsmanship model.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Equally as stunning, Seiko\u2019s new \u2018Deep Black\u2019 Presage is a real showstopper. Its centrepiece is its deep black urushi lacquer dial which has been handcrafted by master Isshu Tamura and his team. Older than watchmaking itself, this lacquering process has been practised for centuries. The resultant urushi lacquer actually ages extremely well and only gains strength as the years pass. Consequently, it makes a brilliant base for a long-lasting watch. Enhancing the design\u2019s legibility, white hour and minute hands as well as matching baton indices adorn the dial. For a sumptuous finish, the second hand is gold in tone.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just like the \u2018Pure White\u2019 model, the \u2018Deep Black\u2019 has a streamlined silhouette with a refined stainless steel case and domed sapphire crystal. Moreover, it also benefits from the same three-day power reserve of Seiko\u2019s 6R55 automatic movement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
