It’s a busy time at Seiko<\/a> HQ this week with many new releases on the horizon. But, luckily for the brand\u2019s fans, this means that this week has been a week of many new Seiko launches. Excitingly, we have three sets of releases to update you on, including a new 5 Sports x Honda watch, three new Astrons, and two new Prospex Alpinists. So, without further ado, let\u2019s dive into this week’s Seiko launches!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Week of Seiko Launches: The Round-up<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

5 Sports x Honda Super Cub Limited Edition<\/a> SRPK37<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Marking the brand\u2019s third-ever collaboration with Honda, the first of the new launches is a new 5 Sports x Honda Super Cub. Fitting in with the rest of the collection, the new model has all the classic 5 Sports functions, including a day-date display, 100 metres of water resistance, a recessed crown as well as excellent durability. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking inspiration from the Honda\u2019s Super Cub motorcycle, this edition features an all-blue colour design. Although it boasts a shiny new colour scheme, well-loved special details from the previous models do make a reappearance. For example, the whimsical headlight-inspired 12 o\u2019clock hour marker returns. Adding to the effect, accompanying it are the 1 and 11 o\u2019clock indices which mimic the Super Cub\u2019s indicator lights. Another distinctive detail is the Super Cub\u2019s original wing logo on both the crown and textile strap in addition to a specialised motorcycle engraving on the red case back. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for its more general attributes, there is also lots to love. The chunky hands and baton indices feature a luminescent inlay to optimise the dial\u2019s legibility. To protect it, a 42.5mm stainless steel case enclosed by a sapphire crystal houses the design. Within it, Seiko\u2019s automatic mechanical 4R36 movement with a 48-hour power reserve forms the powerhouse of the watch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Astron GPS Solar 5X Dual-Time Limited Editions in Galactic Blue<\/a>, Redshift<\/a>, and Cyber Yellow<\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Three new Astrons are also on the cards. Always being one step ahead of its competition, Seiko\u2019s Astron is the world\u2019s first GPS solar watch. Powered by light, the range adjusts automatically to your exact timezone through cutting-edge satellite technology, making for a hassle-free set-up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These new Astrons feature even more abundant functionality. For example, their dual-time and world-time functions allow you to track multiple timezones, perfect for the avid traveller. To this end, the GPS function also means that the Astrons can jump seamlessly from one timezone to another when travelling. So, as soon as you step off the plane, the hands can automatically adjust to the local time in just three seconds. But to fit with your personal preferences, the time transfer function makes it easy to switch your subdial timezone to the main dial. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All bases are also covered when it comes to power. Whilst the power reserve indicator shows when a recharge is needed, the overcharge prevention function preserves good battery health. Moreover, if the watch is running low, there is a power save function to keep it functional for longer.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are also three stunning colourways to choose from, including Galactic Blue<\/a> (SSH135), Redshift<\/a> (SSH137), and Cyber Yellow<\/a> (SSH139). Each colourway features a differently patterned dial, luminescent hand and indices as well as its own corresponding bold accents. They also all feature a sturdy 42.7mm wide titanium housing and matching bracelet to complete the design. But, if you like changing up the look of your watch regularly, all models also come with an additional silicone strap to complement their design.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prospex Alpinist Mechanical GMT in Blue<\/a> and Black<\/a>\u00a0<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The last of this week\u2019s Seiko launches are the two new Prospex Alpinist models. Taking its name from the brand\u2019s beloved \u2018Alpinist\u2019 model from 1959, the Prospex Alpinist line prioritises legibility. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new GMT models are available in either rich blue<\/a> (SPB337) or classic black<\/a> (SPB379). In line with the collection\u2019s signature style, both colourways feature rhodium hands and Arabic numeral indices. So that the watch is readable even in the dark, all hands feature a luminescent inlay. Additionally, each hour marker also has its own accompanying luminescent marking. As for the GMT function, a red arrow-tipped hand ticks at the centre of the dial and indicates the time in a second timezone of your choosing. Meanwhile, a curved sapphire glass with interior antireflective coating encases each dial for a luxurious finish.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Housing the intricate movement on each new model is a stainless steel case, which measures 39.5mm in diameter. It locks in 200 metres of water resistance, making each piece perfect for everyday adventures. At its core is the powerhouse of the watch: the automatic mechanical 6R54 calibre. Impressively, it boasts a power reserve of up to three days, so you can be assured of its reliability. Finally, securing the watch to the wrist is a calfskin leather strap, either in blue or black, depending on the chosen model. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
