This is a brand that has had an enormous, almost immeasurable, impact on the industry.\u00a0 In fact, both Seiko and its founder, Kintar\u014d Hattori, are largely responsible for putting Japan on the horological map in the first place.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\nHattori opened up his first clock repair shop (Hattori Tokei Sh\u016bzensho) at age 21, which lay the foundation for Seiko. Primarily, he made a living from selling imported Swiss timepieces, which eventually inspired Hattori to make his own. However, whilst this gained traction for the brand, its greater successes came later when it strived more towards technological innovation.
