Yesterday, Longines<\/a> launched new Flagship Heritage models. In line with the rest of the collection, these new models fuse the brand\u2019s heritage aesthetics with contemporary watchmaking technology. The resultant timepieces are confident, classic and beyond competent. Moreover, the launch features three smart colourways, so there is a piece to fit every preference. Without further ado, let’s get stuck into the new Longines Flagship Heritage launches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The New Longines Flagship Heritage Launches<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Core Specifications<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Aside from the differences in colour and finish, there are many shared features across the new launches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of these core specifications is the case. Made of stainless steel, the round case on each of the models measures a healthy 38.5mm in diameter. At 12.4mm thickness, the new Flagship Heritage models sit proudly and boldly on the wrist. Sealing the dial designs is a sapphire crystal. For added protection, the crystals are scratch-resistant with several layers of anti-reflective coating on both their interior and exterior. Additionally, each model features a screw-down case back engraved with an intricate Flagship relief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the heart of each model is an automatic mechanical movement. This is the brand\u2019s L899 calibre movement, which boasts a generous power reserve of up to 72 hours. Moreover, it beats at a frequency of 25’200 vibrations per hour. To further ensure its precision, the movement also has a monocrystalline silicon balance-spring. The silicone within it prevents interference from thermal fluctuations and magnetism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First up is the warmest colourway of the three. This watch features a warm silver dial paired with gilt dauphine hour, minute and second hands. A discreet practical touch on the hands is their subtle luminescent inlay, meaning they are readable even in low lighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mirroring the design of the hands, the applied baton indices are also gold in colour. Additionally, to emphasise the principal dial positions, the 12, 3, and 9 o\u2019clock markers are lengthened. At 6 o\u2019clock, the marker is shortened to accommodate a moon phase display. For added functionality without overcrowding the dial, this moon phase sundial is encircled by a date ring. Here, a petite gilt hand sits in the centre of the moon phase display and indicates the current date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, topping off this design is a brown leather strap. It features an alligator texture to reinforce the elegance of the watch\u2019s design. Fastening it to the wrist is a secure stainless steel pin buckle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second colourway is perfect for those looking for more colour in their watch collection. The all-over blue colour scheme of the watch makes it eye-catching on the wrist, whilst the depth of the blue gives the piece its sophisticated edge. Accenting the design are silver hands and indices that match the shape of the previous model. The blue colourway also features a 6 o\u2019clock moon phase and date display, but this time it features silver detailing instead of gold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In line with the rest of the watch\u2019s design, completing the watch is a blue leather strap. It also features an alligator texture and a pin buckle fastening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The final colourway in the launch is perhaps the most intriguing. It features a monochrome grey design, which makes the watch look greyed out in real life. The only injection of colour on the model is the blue of the moon phase display\u2019s background. However, this subtle pop of colour only reinforces the mysterious beauty of this \u2018greyed out\u2019 design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following suit with its all-over grey design, this colourway also features silver dauphine hands, indices, and subdial detailing. All these features rest on a cool-tone silver dial. Lastly, a grey alligator leather strap with a pin buckle fastens the watch to the wrist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
