After much anticipation, Tissot<\/a> has finally unveiled a PRX<\/a> 35mm Powermatic 80. A welcome extension to the ’70s-inspired PRX line, the release consists of four different colourways. Due to its elegantly clean design, the PRX is a fan favourite which the brand has recently been pushing in different directions. This new PRX 35mm range condenses the mechanical excellence of an automatic watch into a more streamlined design. Moreover, it’s more universally fitting than its 40mm counterpart and is perfectly timed with the rising trend of undersized watches. Many have patiently awaited this announcement, as until now, the 35mm PRX has only been available in quartz. So, let’s unpack some of the core specifications of the new Tissot PRX 35mm Powermatic 80.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Case and Dial<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The real centrepiece of each Tissot PRX 35mm Powermatic 80 is, of course, the dial. This release comes in the same three colours as its 40mm predecessor, including black (T1372071105100)<\/a>, dark blue (T1372071104100)<\/a>, and green (T1372071109100)<\/a>. However, this time there is also a mother-of-pearl (T1372071111100)<\/a> option. Adding retro flair to each dial is its waffle texture, which adds some visual depth to the models\u2019 clean design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adorning each of the dials are silver-framed baton indices as well as silver-framed hour, minute, and second hands. Both the hands and the indices have a luminescent inlay, meaning that the watch is readable even in low-light conditions. For added functionality, there is also a date display resting at the 3 o\u2019clock position. Protecting the dial is a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, which has several layers of anti-reflective coating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Housing each of these designs is a 35mm wide tonneau-shaped stainless steel case. Its robust nature seals in the watch\u2019s impressive 100 metres of water resistance. On the reverse side of the case, there is a transparent exhibition window to show off the watch\u2019s movement. This also features a wavy engraving for some extra intricate detail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Movement and Finishing Touches<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Powering the PRX 35mm Powermatic range is its namesake Powermatic 80.111 calibre automatic movement. It boasts an impressive power reserve of up to 80 hours and has 23 jewels. Moreover, to minimise the effects of magnetic interference the mechanism is equipped with a patented Nivachron balance spring, so you can be sure your timepiece is precise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Completing the timeless silhouette of the model is a stainless steel bracelet. Looking sleek on the wrist, it has a satin finish and fastens with a butterfly clasp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
