This all-new timepiece will thrill fans of the Seiko brand and of the iconic Japanese programme alike. This watch is limited to just 3,400 pieces worldwide, making it a very collectable and desirable model. The watch has been released to celebrate Seiko 5 Sports and UltraSeven’s joint birthday. The Seiko 5 Sports family is celebrating 55 years and UltraSeven is celebrating 5.5 decades. The design of this timepiece is based on the “61-5D” which was the first Seiko 5 Sports watch ever made, released in 1968. The Seiko 5 Sports watch is renowned for over 50 years of reliability, durability, performance and value, making it a great choice for any collector. The Seiko x UltraSeven Double Anniversary Limited Edition Watch SRPJ79K1<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This limited edition timepiece has been created in collaboration with UltraSeven<\/a>, a popular Japanese science fiction TV programme. The programme aired between October 1967 and September 1968, making it a pillar of Japanese science fiction. The watch uses the design of the iconic Seiko 5 Sports. This family of watches is named for its 5 key features: water resistance, durable case and bracelet, automatic movement, recessed crown and day-date display. The watch is inspired by the official gear worn by the UltraGuard characters. These are a defence force in the series. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dial and Movement<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The dial of this watch is silver in colour. Its metallic finish is sure to draw the eye to the wrist. The dial is marked with the UltraGuard ‘TDF-UG’ mark to give the timepiece the feel of a prop from the programme’s set. Luminous baton indices also adorn the dial alongside luminous hands. In true Seiko 5 Sports fashion, a day-date display is positioned at 3 o’clock. The dial and its features are protected by Hardlex crystal to provide a good level of durability. Additionally, a black bezel frames this dial. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The watch is powered by a precise and reliable automatic movement, as is typical of the Seiko 5 Sports collection. This movement is of the calibre 4R36 and will provide the timepiece with up to 41 hours of power reserve. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Case and Finishing Touches<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The sturdy case of this watch is crafted from stainless steel. It measures 42.5mm in diameter and 13.4mm in depth. This case size creates a comfortable and flattering fit on the wrist. The case back is printed with the UltraSeven silhouette mark as an extra nod to the series the watch is inspired by. Additionally, this case is water resistant up to 10 bar making the timepiece a practical choice for everyday wear. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The watch is secured on the wrist using a grey nylon strap to ensure for comfortable wear. The strap features a black and white stripe along its centre. This is printed with the phrase “Terrestrial Defense Force” to emphasise the association with the UltraGuard characters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
