Flyback Chronograph Function<\/h2>\n

The New Frederique Constant <\/a>FC-760 timepiece has been inspired by 1930\u2019s Flyback Chronographs and their ambition to go beyond regular chronograph construction. In regular chronograph watches the chronograph function is used as a stopwatch which measures time during specific intervals however what sets a Flyback chronograph apart is that the user is able to operate the chronograph without having to reset it to zero each and every time. On the Flyback Chronograph the chronograph\u2019s hand can be stopped, reset to zero, and restarted with one push of a button. This function is essential for timing an elapsed interval of events during races.<\/p>\n

Patented Star Wheel<\/h2>\n

As watch enthusiasts and professionals will all know the unmistakable characteristic of a high-quality chronograph in a watch is a column wheel rotating on bearings to control the three \u201cstart, stop and reset\u201d functions which in conventional mechanisms has a component comprised of several columns. In comparison the Flyback Chronograph has a ‘caliber FC-760’ which has no standard-type column wheel, but a star-shaped<\/em><\/strong> one. This star shaped column wheel works along with an operating lever, which is controlled by the start\/stop push-piece, this component is responsible for the exceptionally smooth operation of the mechanism.<\/p>\n

All of this phenomenal and innovative watch manfacture comes down to the incredible functionality of this chronograph and that by Pressing the push-piece just once will start the timer again from zero almost effortlessly. In a case where the push-piece at 4\u00a0o\u2019clock its associated mechanism will cause three tasks to be performed seamlessly one after the other: first, the clutch is disengaged; secondly, the chronograph is reset to zero (This is done by the use of a single-piece hammer) whose sloping surfaces turn the two zero reset hearts so that the hands position themselves vertically again; and thirdly, the clutch engages once more as soon as the push-piece is released (pretty impressive right?) This sophisticated and complex sequence of movements proceeds directly from the push-piece to the clutch lever. This instant type of flyback is just one of the impressive and unique details of construction of the new caliber FC-760.<\/p>\n
