Seiko<\/a> is one of the most successful watch brands in the world. The brand was founded in 1881 in Tokyo Japan by Kintaro Hattori. The brand has announced the release of the 140th anniversary ‘Ginza’ watches in order to celebrate Seiko’s longstanding achievements. The line is named after the are in Tokyo. It was one of the places where the brand managed to make a name for itself. These models are unique and represent everything the brand has stood for and stands for. There are two watches in this line. One is part of the larger Prospex line, while the other uses the Presage Style 60s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The model from the Prospex<\/a> line features an appealing masculine aesthetic. The watch uses the Prospex Alpinist for its base, so the timepiece features several distinct features of the model. The case and bracelet are made of stainless steel. The case measures 38 mm in diameter. An element of the watch that truly stands out and makes the model even more special is the dial. The dial colour is inspired by the sky reflecting in the glass of the cityscape. Behind the inspiration of the sectioned design of the watch’s display stand the Western-influenced paved areas of Ginza. In true Alpinist fashion, the watch features pointed indices that resemble mountains on the 12, 6 and 9 o’clock. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The model has an automatic movement with a calibre 6R35 and a 70-hour power reserve. Increasing the durability of the model is a curved sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating and a 20 bar water resistance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The other watch in the line uses the Presage<\/a> Style 60 watch as its base. These timepieces are inspired by the practical, vintage styles of the 1960s, specifically the first-ever chronograph designed by Seiko in 1964. Much like the Prospex model, this watch uses the stand-out paved streets and highrise buildings in the Ginza district to create a unique design. Another feature on the dial is the skeleton aperture through which you can see the automatic movement. The watch’s 40.75 mm case and bracelet are both made of stainless steel. The model also features a black bezel. Protecting the appealing dial is a box-shaped Hardlex crystal. The automatic movement of the watch is calibre 4R39 with a 41-hour power reserve <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Seiko ‘Ginza’ watches are limited edition. The Prospex Alpinist ‘Ginza’ is limited to 3500 models while the Presage Style 60s’ limited to 4000. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
