Oris<\/a> is renowned for its expertly engineered and precisely designed specialist diving watches. The brand has harnessed its knowledge, expertise and craftsmanship to redesign the iconic Aquis model <\/a>with a unique twist. The New Oris Aquis Depth Gauge is the first watch of its kind to measure depth by allowing water to enter the timepiece. This new technology is patented by Oris, making this watch incredibly desirable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nDepth Gauge<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The key feature of the new Oris Aquis is the unique depth gauge. The brand has incorporated the scientific principles of the Boyle-Mariotte Law to create the depth gauge on this watch that can be used to measure depth during a dive. The design of this gauge allows water to enter into a hole that has been cut at the 12 o\u2019clock point in the crystal. Water enters through this hole and into a channel that is cut around the outer edge of the crystal. This creates a watermark that corresponds to the yellow gauge on the dial. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\ndesign of this gauge is more refined than previous models to improve the\naccuracy and legibility of the depth reading. The metres and feet conversion\nchart has been positioned so it sits at 90 degrees to the 12 o\u2019clock position.\nThis allows it to be read more easily and quickly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nMovement <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The\nnew Oris Aquis Depth Gauge is powered by an automatic movement of the calibre\nOris 733 that is based on the SW 200-1 movement. This movement has a power\nreserve of up to 38 hours to ensure that the watch will remain reliable during\neven the most challenging dives. The movement uses 26 jewels and 28\u2019800 A\/h to\npower the watch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nDesign<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This\nwatch features a black dial with yellow detailing to ensure that essential information\nis clear and easy to read. The dial exhibits a date aperture in the 6 o\u2019clock\nposition on the dial. The hour, minute and second hands and baton indices are\nsilver and have been treated with SuperLuminova so that the dial can be read in\nthe dark. The dial is protected by domed sapphire crystal that has been treated\nto be anti-reflective on both sides. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dial is surrounded by a black ceramic rotating bezel to give this watch additional diver\u2019s watch functions and create the classic appearance of an Oris diver\u2019s watch. A stainless steel case frames the dial. It measures 45.8mm in diameter. This larger size means that the dial will be easy to read under water.  The screw fastened case back aids with the water resistance rating of up to 500 metres (50 bar). This incredibly high water resistance allows the wearer to dive to great depths and wear the watch for a multitude of water-based activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This model is secured to the wrist with a multi-piece stainless steel metal bracelet that fastens with a security folding clap and includes an extension. A new feature of this watch is Oris\u2019 new patented Quick Strap Change system. This system allows the strap of the watch to be changed with ease giving the wearer greater freedom to personalise the new Oris Aquis Depth Gauge watch.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
