A Brief History of Ducati<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Beginning<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Ducati began in the 1920s in\nBologna, Italy. The brand has not always made motorcycles, having started the\ncompany by building radios. Adriano Cavalieri Ducati patented a short-wave transmitter\nthat he could use to communicate with people in the United States. Adriano then\ncollaborated with his brothers Bruno and Marcello to create the Societ\u00e0\nScientifica Radio Brevetti Ducati. After the destruction of the site,\nthe family were determined to rebuild. The decision was made to change the\nbrand\u2019s core product and the newly rebuilt site became a motorcycle\nmanufacturing facility. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the war, the Italian people were calling for mobility. They required easy and convenient ways to move around their cities. The favourable option was micro-engines that could be attached to any bicycle at a moment\u2019s notice. Ducati noticed this and created the Ducati Cucciolo<\/a>, answering the call for convenient motorisation with a product that revolutionised the industry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 1960s-1980s<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Moving into the 1960s, the car industry\nwas growing exponentially, meaning that there was not so much desire for motorcycles\nfor practical, commuting purposes. This allowed brands like Ducati to shift how\nthe general public viewed motorcycles, with the opinion of them becoming more\nfocused on fun and freedom.
