The 1970s brought on many changes in watchmaking. At the beginning of the quartz crisis, many traditional watchmakers saw a decline in the demand for automatic watches. With the much more precise and lower maintenance quartz timepieces available, watchmakers either had to adapt or risk losing their business. Tissot<\/a> was established in 1853 and already had a long history of innovation. The brand understood that adapting with the times is necessary. In the 70s Tissot quickly adapted and that gave rise to a new age of success and opened a new line of options for them. In the past few months, we have seen a resurgence of 60s and 70s style, especially in watch design. The new Tissot PRX is modelled after watches from this era as a homage to the design and the great innovations which took place at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Introducing<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The PRX 40 205 retains its vintage appeal while still benefiting from modern innovation and technologies. The thin, streamlined design of the integrated case gives the watch a slight contemporary tone. Its silhouette is elegant yet sporty. The watch is Tissot\u2019s newest addition to their T-Classic line. Its case measures 40 mm in diameter and 10.4 mm in thickness. Both the case and the bracelet are made of vertically brushed stainless steel. The bracelet is secured with a butterfly clasp with push-buttons. Keeping in line with the models from the 1970s, the movement on the new Tissot PRX is quartz. The movement is calibre ETA F06.115 and features an end of life function. Features on the watch include a date display at the 3 o\u2019clock position. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects the dial. The watch is water-resistant up to 100 meters or 10 bars. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The watch\u2019s dial comes in 3 varieties. On the first model variation, the dial is blue sunray<\/a>. Luminescent indices in stainless steel complement the case and the dial colour. The second variation of the watch has a black sunray dial<\/a>, again with stainless steel baton hands and indices. The last variation of the watch has a slightly more retro look. The dial is vertically brushed stainless steel<\/a>. Rose-gold luminescent indices contrast the overall design and make the model more versatile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
