The FIS Nordic World Ski Championship is a nordic skiing event organized by the International Ski Federation<\/a> once every two years. Started in 1925, the event has captured the attention of millions of ski enthusiasts. The event includes two other disciplines apart from Nordic skiing: cross-country skiing and ski jumping. In Oberstdorf, Germany the World Championship will start on the 23rd of February and continues until the 7th of March. With a little over a month until the event, Junghans has announced the release of the Junghans 1972 Automatic FIS edition. The brand is once again the official timekeeper for the event and is proud to present this exclusive limited-edition model. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Junghans<\/a> is a brand dedicated to perfection and precision. Their timepieces are renowned for their excellent timekeeping and design. Simplicity and streamlined silhouettes are at the core of the brand\u2019s values. The 1972 Automatic FIS Edition is created in honour of the event. It\u2019s design and functions perfectly summarize the essence of the championship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The watch\u2019s sleek sporty design showcases the attention to detail Junghans pays to every single element. A sleek silhouette evokes both the extraordinary nature of the event and the brand\u2019s values and signature designs. The case of the Automatic FIS Edition is durable and hard-wearing. Measuring at 46.9 mm in diameter, the case is made of stainless steel and features polished accents. To guarantee the highest readability the sapphire crystal has been coated with an anti-reflective layer on both sides of the glass. Inspired by the colour palette of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championship, the matt white dial is encircled by a dual-coloured timezone ring in red and blue. The time zone is rotatable to either side. The minute\u2019s scale is in darker navy blue. Luminescent hands and indices add that signature Junghans touch to the design. The watch features a set of two crowns. At 2 o\u2019clock is positioned the crown for the second time zone. It has a special engraving of a snowflake. At the 4 o\u2019clock position is the time adjustment and winding crown. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The model has a stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp. In addition, replacement leather straps in white with red and blue highlights, or dark blue with ice grey highlights have been included with the watch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 3-point shock absorber for protection of the movement is fitted on the watch, increasing the model\u2019s durability. The  Junghans 1972 Automatic FIS edition has automatic movement J830. Its power reserve lasts up to 48 hours. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
