2021 marks the 140th anniversary of the foundation of Seiko<\/a>. The Japanese giant was founded in Tokyo by Kintar\u014d Hattori. Through the years the brand has had many successes and has received international recognition for their exquisite watches. As one of the brands at the forefront of horological innovation, Seiko has proven that experience and perseverance are at the core of exceptional long-lasting timepieces. To mark their anniversary, the brand has recreated an icon and announced the release of the King Seiko KSK 202. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 1960s was a highly prosperous time for the brand. The decade was marked by innovation and fast-paced technological progress. What can be referred to as one of Seiko\u2019s Golden Ages, the watch brand established itself worldwide as a technological leader and laid the foundation for its future successes. During the 60s Seiko had many successes. Starting with the release of the first-ever Grand Seiko and being the official timekeeper for the Summer Olympics in Tokyo in 1964, to the releasing the world\u2019s first quartz watch in 1969 and beginning the quartz crisis of the 70s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The King Seiko KSK was released in 1965. Its elegant yet modern design truly embodied Seiko\u2019s values. The design of the original model was bold yet refined. The model became a symbol of excellence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Recreation<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The 2021 recreation, the King Seiko KSK 2021 stays true to the original in many ways. The model features angular faceted detailing giving its stunning design a contemporary appeal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The watch\u2019s case measures 38.1mm in diameter and thickness of 11.4mm, which is only 0.5 mm thicker than the 1965 model. The stainless steel case is coated with a super-hard layer to protect against scratches. Multi-faceted lugs complement the faceted indices on the dial creating a distinct coherent design. The brilliant mirror finish is achieved through the complex Zaratsu polishing method. A boxed-shaped sapphire crystal protects the dial and enhances the sharpness of the watch\u2019s edges. Faceted indices complement the flat simple dial. For ease of reading the 12 o\u2019clock index has been textured. Unlike the 1965 watch, a date aperture has been added to the re-release. The crown of the watch is also faceted. Broad sharp polished hands complete the timepiece\u2019s design. A black crocodile strap contrasts the sharp edges of the case and dial and highlights the watch\u2019s exclusive luxurious tone. The watch features a medallion on the case back. As it is a limited edition release, the serial number of each model is marked on the case back. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

An automatic movement with 26 jewels, 28,800 vibrations per hour and a 45-hour power-reserve guarantees outstanding precision. The calibre of the piece is 6L35. The King Seiko KSK 2021 is water-resistant up to 5 bars and has magnetic resistance up to 4,800 A\/m. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
