On the 1st of July Certina<\/a> announced the release of two new additions to its popular DS-1 range. The DS-1 Big Date is part of Certina\u2019s Urban collection. Their Urban models are stylish and sport a classic clean silhouette.They are suitable to be worn every day as well as on special occasions. The models have a unique universal appeal. With the range of designs and functions available on the models in this collection, expressing your individuality has never been easier. The Certina DS-1 Big Date is a range of models expertly crafted from the highest quality materials.

The Design<\/strong>

These watches showcase Certina\u2019s dedication to excellent craftsmanship. Their silhouette is classic and features gentle curves which give the models a more sophisticated tone. The design of the DS-1 Big Date, like its predecessor the DS-1, was inspired by models from the 1960s. Its retro-chic design highlights the model\u2019s timeless appeal.

\"blue<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

New to the Certina DS-1 Big Date is the faded effect dial. This adds depth and interest to the model. The colour transitions from darker towards the edges to lightest in the middle. The gradient helps accentuate the curved dial. A sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective layer protects the dial on the model. Its case measures at 41 mm and is made of stainless steel. To more easily personalize your watch the model comes with an easy release system for the leather straps to be exchanged to a meta bracelet. Contrasting the dial are silvered wedge-shaped indices and a set of dauphine hands. In order to showcase the intricate movement, the watch features an exhibition case back.

The models come with a blue gradient dial<\/a> and a brown leather calfskin strap or an anthracite gradient dial<\/a> and black calfskin strap.

The Movement and Features<\/strong>
<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Certina DS-1 Big Date features a state-of-the-art Powermatic calibre automatic movement. It has an 80-hour power reserve and includes an end-of-life indicator. The movement also has a Nivachron balance spring. It increases the anti-magnetism of the model and guarantees ultimate precision. Features on the model include hours, minutes and seconds. The watch has a panorama date, also known as a big date, aperture at the 6 o\u2019clock position.
