Diving watches are one of the most popular watches in the market today. Not only do diving watches support indevours of sea explorers, but they also have an aesthetic purpose. Certina<\/a> has created a typically bold and colourful diving watch this year- the DS Super PH500M<\/a>. This model was crafted to support every journey, land or sea, with an impressive water-resistance of 500m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a long history behind the craft of this timepiece as its historic predecessor had the opportunity to demonstrate its strengths. In 1969, four scientists wore this watch during their two-month research stay at the Tektite I underwater laboratory. It was deemed a success. Since then, this model has been modernised with impressive complications. Certina has also teamed up with the German diving association, VDST, calling upon their diving expertise as the brand developed this watch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The DS Super PH500M showcases a retro style which is characterised by the orange dial combined with a black rubber strap and black aluminium divers bezel. Why an orange dial? The orange dial gives this watch its charm which has not only been chosen for a bold statement but also for excellent visibility underwater. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This watch is on the larger side with a case width of 43mm and lug width of 20mm. Created for optimal timekeeping, this model comes with Super-LumiNova markers which are easily read day, night and comfortably underwater. The dial is protected by high-quality sapphire crystal which has been treated with an anti-reflective coating. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Introducing<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

To signify the collaboration between Certina and VDST in creating this model, the case back shows off the logo of the German diving association. This watch can be worn over a wetsuit and comes with a diving extension for a comfortable fit beneath the waves. Members of the German diving association can also request two additional NATO straps for their watch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a model that not only comes with a typical diving aesthetic but incredible functionality. Powered by Certina’s powermatic 80.111 movement, this watch was built to last. To support adventures on land or sea, this model is also equipped with an 80-hour power reserve. The heart of this model is comprised of a brand new balance spring made from Nivachron(TM). This new innovative material has been crafted to increase resistance to magnetic fields. The titanium base is incredibly resistant to both shock and temperature variations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This watch is water-resistant up to 500m which is impressive within the diving community, especially when the price of this model is taken into consideration. This model comes complete with a date window at the 3 o’clock position on the dial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
