Recently we have been treated with a number of new releases from Swiss watchmakers, Alpina<\/a>. From the Alpina Seastrong Diver Heritage<\/a> to the Alpina Alpiner Quartz Edition<\/a>! These are some fantastic new models that have continued the trend of quality watchmaking from the brand. Taking a look in to the History of Alpina<\/a>, we have always seen reliable, stylish and unique watches, that have consistently pleased fans of the brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest watch we are looking at comes from the popular Seastrong collection<\/a>. A divers watch that has remained faithful to the distinctive design that has made the model so recognizable over the years. The Alpina Seastrong Diver 300 has kept the oversized case with strong lines, the luminous indexes and it’s uni-directional bezel too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This watch arrives as part of the current heritage movement that Alpina are running, where they produce modernized interpretations of classic models. Directly inspired by one of the most iconic Alpina watches from the last century, in the form of the Seastrong ’10’ from the 1960’s. This model takes aesthetic inspiration from the classic 60’s version, but has been updated to suit modern day life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Alpina<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

At the time, the model was already capable of reaching depths of 200m\/660ft and built to resist extreme conditions. For the Seastrong Diver ‘300’ this has now been increased by 100m, giving the watch water resistance up to 30 bar (300m). The watch also features a screw-down crown to offer an added security to sustain the timepieces high water-resistance while diving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is not only the water resistance that has been upgraded for this new model, but the case size has also been increased to 44mm, and is available in titanium of bronze PVD plating. This has been increased, following the trend of modern day watches, and their ever increasing case sizes! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The range has a choice of grey, black or navy bezels, and dark brown, grey or navy dials, depending on which model you decide to go for! The fore mentioned bezel is a unidirectional rotating bezel, a feature used for timing dives, and also a fantastic looking design cue too! These dial colours have been chosen as a high contrasting tone to the large, luminous indexes and hour markers! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dial features do not end there. The iconic triangle that can be seen in the Alpina logo can be seen in the 12 o’clock hour marker, as a wink to the legendary logo! The dial is then completed with the addition of a date window at the 3 o’clock mark, which is a subtle, yet functional addition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The watch arrives on one of the brands vintage leather straps, and also come with an additional rubber strap too, perfect for when you want to take the watch diving! This allows the watch to provide you with a perfect blend of everyday wear, and functional use too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
