The latest collection from REC watches, the RJM Spitfire Watch<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Available in 3 different colour variations, and made from a Spitfire plane, this is set to be one of the most popular releases yet!<\/h4>\n

The most recent timepieces that we have seen come out of REC watches<\/a> are the\u00a0P-51 \u042fTR Mustang Limited Edition<\/a> and the Porsche 901 RS Limited Edition<\/a>, which are both fantastic watches, well worth checking out! Now, the latest collection to be released is the\u00a0RJM Spitfire Watch, so read on to find out all about the watch, and its journey from skies to wrist!<\/p>\n

As previously mentioned this watch is available in 3 different variations, all of which are powered by\u00a0Miyota cal. 9015 mechanical, self-winding movement, with a 42 hour power reserve. The dimensions of this piece are relatively standard, making it a comfortable wearing watch, with a case diameter of 41mm, a depth of 11mm, and only weighing 78g, this is a great wearable watch!<\/p>\n

The RJM-01<\/a> is an all black model, excluding the case. A double-layered black calf leather strap, and black textured dial make this piece a subtle yet versatile option!<\/p>\n

The RJM-02<\/a> features a\u00a0double-layered tan calf leather strap, with a much darker brown textured dial, giving the watch a classic, vintage look, whilst keeping it classy.<\/p>\n

The RJM-03<\/a> is much more of a military style looking watch. the dark khaki green textured dial, and military green canvas strap give it a rough and ready look, prepared for any adventure you could think of!<\/p>\n

The crown protector on the watch is hugely influenced by the Spitfire’s famous elliptical wing shape & wing structure. This is part of what made the Spitfire such a well balance and aerodynamic marvel and what makes the RJM Spitfire watch stand out on your wrist!<\/p>\n

The four notches on the tip of the crown are there to mark the number of blades on the MK IX Spitfire aircraft Rotor propeller, which was actually first introduced on the MK VI (Type 350). The four-bladed propeller of the aircraft measured 10ft 9in (3.27 m) in diameter, and was housed in a pointed spinner. Don’t worry the size has been scaled down to a few millimeters for he watch!<\/p>\n

The case of the REC RJM Spitfire watch is inspired by the watches worn by the British Royal Air-force and the British Army during WWII, rather than the planes themselves. Of course with a modern twist and updated proportions with the RJM measuring 41mm, and not 34mm as was the norm during the WW2 era.<\/p>\n

On the RJM,\u00a0the \u201cNOSE UP\u201d is fantastically inspired by the \u2018elevator trim\u2019 indicator gauge from the cockpit of the Spitfire aircraft. REC watches watches to be able to capture the true dial design of these aircraft, to create the experience of sitting inside the cockpit of a Spitfire, but also in order to take inspiration form the watches that would have been worn by RAF pilots in that era.<\/p>\n

One of the main draws of owning the REC RJM watch is that this timepiece actually contains a piece of world history. The dial itself houses a section of untreated aluminium that was cut directly from the\u00a0PT879 MK IX Spitfire aircraft. This creates a showcase of the actual marks and dents on this particular aerodynamic marvel that helped change the course of history.<\/p>\n

The tip of the seconds hand draws its inspiration from the propeller blades of the MK IX Spitfire. The first MK I prototype actually used a two-blade wooden fixed-pitch propeller configuration, whereas the latest Spitfire, which was the MK 24 (type 356), was equipped with five metal blades.<\/p>\n

The tip of the crown has been molded to represent the shape of the nose cone, housing of the propellers. This design has been combined with details taken from traditional pilots watches, which inspired the diamond shaped crown.<\/p>\n

The rear of the watch features a fantastic open glass display showing off the movement and intricate details that have been included. The rotor has been decorated to show the metal rivet construction that was used on the Spitfire planes, which is a great small detail that has not been missed!<\/p>\n

Every single rivet on the donor PT879 MK IX Spitfire aircraft was removed rivet by rivet, by hand, in order to re-use as much of the aluminum in the restoration process as possible.<\/p>\n
